Use common operating systems for government affairs

Procedure

1. Log on to the ECS console with your Alibaba Gov Cloud account.

   Note

   Alibaba Gov Cloud accounts must complete Alibaba Gov Cloud certification. To enhance account security, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). For more information about how to log on after you enable MFA, see Log on to Alibaba Cloud for Government.

2. On the Instances tab, click Create Instance.

3. Configure the parameters for the ECS instance.

   1. Basic Configurations.

      Select a Billing Method, Region and Zone, and Instance Type based on your requirements. You can filter instance types by vCPU and memory, or search for them by name.

      When you select an image, the System Image and Image Marketplace sections provide a wide range of operating systems from Alibaba Cloud and the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace.

      • On the Public Image tab, select a standard Alibaba Cloud operating system. Common Linux and Windows operating systems are available.

      • On the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace Image tab, select an operating system commonly used for government services, such as Red Flag Linux or Kylin OS.

      Select a system disk or data disk for the ECS instance.

   2. Click Next to configure the network and security group.

      Select a virtual private cloud (VPC) and security group that align with your network plan and security policy.

   3. Click Next to configure system settings.

      When you configure the Logon Credentials, set a strong password that meets high security requirements.

4. Click Confirm Order.

   Confirm the order details, such as the subscription duration, automatic release time, and order amount. Select the checkbox to agree to the Terms of Service.

5. Confirm that the order information is correct, and then click Confirm Order.

   Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the payment.
