This topic describes how to upload media assets to the Intelligent Media Services (IMS) console by using local upload, URL-based upload, or importing from OSS.
Prerequisites

You are familiar with the supported file formats. For more information, see Supported file formats.

You have activated Object Storage Service (OSS) or ApsaraVideo VOD, depending on the required storage location for your media assets. For more information, see Activate OSS and Activate ApsaraVideo VOD.

You have added or configured a default storage address. For more information, see Configure a storage address.

To perform intelligent analysis on uploaded video files, configure intelligent media asset analysis. For more information, see Intelligent media asset analysis.

To classify media assets during upload, first create categories. For more information, see Media asset category management.
Notes

For a local upload, the maximum file size is 48.8 TB for a single audio or video file, and 50 MB for a single subtitle or font file.

For a URL-based upload or an import from OSS, the maximum file size for a single audio or video file is 5 GB.

In the console, you can only upload M3U8 files by using the URL-based upload method.

File name extensions are not case-sensitive. The uploader automatically filters out files with unsupported extensions.
Upload an audio or video file

Log on to the Intelligent Media Services (IMS) console.

In the upper-left corner, select a region based on your business requirements.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

Click Upload Audio/Video and configure the parameters.

Local upload
Uploads audio or video files from your local computer. In the upload list, you can enter the Audio/Video Name and select a category. You can modify categories in bulk.
URL-based upload
Uploads a file from a URL. In the upload list, you must enter the URL, Format, and Audio/Video Name, and then select a category. You can modify categories in bulk.
Import from OSS
Uploads an audio or video file from OSS. In the upload list, you can enter the Audio/Video Name and select a category. You can modify categories in bulk.
Storage address
Supports OSS and ApsaraVideo VOD storage addresses:

OSS storage address: supports local upload.

ApsaraVideo VOD storage address: supports local upload and URL-based upload.
OSS object
If you use the Import from OSS method, you must select the target OSS object.

Click OK to start the upload.
Upload an image

Log on to the Intelligent Media Services (IMS) console.

Upload an auxiliary media asset
