Models and permissions
With IoT edge computing, you can configure two types of models (data models and service models) and permissions for your container applications to streamline development.
Before you begin
Before you configure a data model or a service model, submit your development requirements through the Consulting System for IoT edge computing to obtain the necessary documents and technical support.
Prerequisites
You have created a container application. For more information, see Create a container application.
To provide a service from one container application to another, you must configure a node for the service and expose its port during orchestration. For more information, see Visual orchestration.
Background information
In IoT edge computing, the models and permissions feature for container applications is based on the corresponding feature in the AIoT Application Capability Center. For more information, see AIoT Application Capability Center.
Procedure
Log on to the Edge Computing console.
From the drop-down list in the navigation pane on the left, select your instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Node management > Application management.
On the Application management page, on the Container application tab, find your container application, and click View in the Actions column.
On the Application details page, on the Application information tab, select the application version that you want to configure and click Develop in the Actions column.
On the Version details page, click the Models and permissions tab, and then click Configure models and permissions.
The system redirects you to the AIoT Open Platform, where you can configure the following features for the container application:
Permission declaration
If your application calls Alibaba Cloud APIs through custom APIs, you must add the required API permissions to it.
On the Permission declaration tab, under Permission list, find the permission you need and click Add in the Actions column.
Data model
If two container applications on the same edge integrated machine need to share a data model, you can create a custom one for both to use, which reduces development time.

Service model
A service model includes service provision and service dependency:
Service provision: Provides the same service model from the current application to other container applications. The service provider must use a standardized model to describe the interfaces, their definitions, and their functions.
Service dependency: A service model that an application requires to implement specific functions. The service consumer must describe the interfaces it depends on and their functions.
