Publish a solution
IoT Studio lets you publish a project as a personal solution, authorized solution, or public solution. This topic describes how to publish a project as a solution.
Prerequisites
- Your project must contain at least one published application or service. For more information, see Publish an application and Publish a service.
- You must also publish all products associated with the published application or service. For more information, see Create a product.
Procedure
- Find and click the target project card. On the project Homepage, click Publish as a Solution in the upper-right corner.

- In the Publish as a Solution or Tip dialog box, the following options may appear, depending on your scenario:
- Publish a New Solution
Create a new solution based on the current project.
- Overwrite Publish
You must select an existing solution to overwrite.
- Continue Publishing
Continue editing an incomplete solution.
- New Publish
If you choose New Publish, any previously edited content is discarded.
Note Publish as solutionIf you are publishing a solution from this project for the first time, you can skip this step. - Publish a New Solution
- On the Create Solution page, configure the publishing information.
The Create Solution page consists of three steps: Select Resources, Edit Information, and Complete Publishing. In the Select Resources step, you will see sections for Application, Business Service, and Product resources, each with an option to add them. You can add up to 10 published applications. To add a business service or product, you must publish them first.
- Select Resources.
Available resources include web applications, mobile applications, business services, and products. You must select at least one application or business service. The following example shows how to add a web application.
Click Add Application and select a published web application from the dialog box.
The left pane, Available Applications, lists all available applications. The right pane, Selected Applications, displays your selections. Use the arrow button to move an application from the available list to the selected list, and then click Confirm. - After selecting the services or products, click Next in the lower-right corner.
- Edit Information.
The Basic Information tab in the Edit Information step contains the main configuration form for the solution. You can also provide supplementary details on the Documentation and Hardware tabs. In the lower-right corner, you will find the Previous and Publish Solution buttons.
Fill in the basic information as described in the following table.
Parameter Description Solution Name Required. The name can contain Chinese characters, uppercase and lowercase English letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), parentheses (), and spaces. It must start with a Chinese character, an English letter, or a digit, and be no more than 20 characters long. Publisher Name Publisher Link (can be a company URL) Optional. If you publish this as a public solution, this information appears on the solution card in the Solution Market. - Publisher Link: The publisher's name is displayed as a hyperlink.
- Cover Image: Displays the uploaded image.
- Description: Displays the description of the solution.
Cover Image Description Click Add Documentation to switch to the Documentation page, enter the solution description, and then click Save.
Note- Documentation helps other developers quickly understand the solution and extend it.
- If you are publishing to the Solution Market, clear documentation helps the review team understand your solution and speeds up the approval process.
Click the Hardware tab, click Add Hardware, fill in the hardware details as prompted, and then click Add.
Note If your project uses specific hardware, add its details to help other developers use or build upon the solution.You can add multiple hardware entries as needed.
In the dialog box, you must provide the Hardware Name (required, up to 50 characters). You can also provide a Purchase Link, a Cover Image (a JPG or PNG file of at least 120 × 80 pixels and no larger than 3 MB is recommended), and a Description (up to 100 characters).
- Select Resources.
- In the lower-right corner, click Publish Solution.
- Select a publishing type for the solution:
- Publish to Solution Market (default): Select the checkbox to agree to the legal terms, and then click Submit for Review.
- Publish as Authorized Solution: Select the checkbox to agree to the legal terms, and then click Publish Now.
- Publish as Personal Solution: Click Publish Now.
Note- A public solution must be reviewed and approved by an IoT Studio administrator before it is available to all developers.
- An authorized solution does not require a review. It is published directly to My Solutions and is available only to you and the developers you authorize.
- A personal solution does not require a review. It is published directly to My Solutions and is available only to you.
Result
In the confirmation dialog box, click View to go to the page. This page shows the solutions you have submitted for review or published. The page lists your solutions and displays their Preview Image, Name, Type (Public/Authorized/Personal), Review Status, and Last Updated time. It also provides options such as Use, Preview, Edit, and Authorize.Next steps
On the My Solutions page, you can perform the following actions:- Preview
View the solution's overview, applications, products, and documentation.
The left-side navigation pane contains the Overview, Web Application, Mobile Application, Service, and Product tabs. The Overview section displays the solution name, creator name, and application resource statistics. A Use button is available in the upper-right corner. - Edit
After you click Confirm, you can modify the solution and republish it. For details, see Steps 4–6 in the Procedure section.
- Delete
Note You can delete a public solution only if it is a first-time submission and its review status is Rejected.
- Use
You can use any solution in My Solutions to create a new project. For more information, see Step 1: Create a project.
- Authorize
- On the Authorize Solution page, click Authorize. The page displays Basic Information (including Solution Name, Type, Number of Authorized Accounts, and Pending Confirmations) and an Authorized Account List (with columns for Authorized Alibaba Cloud Account ID, Notes, Authorization Status, Last Updated, and Actions).
- In the Authorize dialog box, enter the user's Alibaba Cloud account ID and any notes, then click Authorize.Note To find an Alibaba Cloud account ID, log on to the IoT Platform console, click your profile picture in the upper-right corner, and navigate to the Security Settings page.
- The authorized developer must log on to the IoT Studio console, select the target instance in the upper-left corner, and click Solutions in the left-side navigation pane.
- On the Authorized SolutionsAuthorized Solution tab, find the target solution and click Process Authorization in the column.
- In the Process Authorization dialog box, click Agree to use the authorized solution.
