Notes
-
Data transfer plans (including General-purpose, Regular, and RTS plans) apply only to the pay-by-traffic billing method. If you use the pay-by-peak-bandwidth billing method, the remaining downstream traffic in your resource plan is frozen until you switch back to the pay-by-traffic method.
-
Regular data transfer plans are region-specific. Cross-region deduction is not supported.
-
Resource plans take effect immediately upon purchase and are prioritized for deduction. If you have multiple plans of the same type, the earliest-expiring plan is consumed first.
-
After a resource plan is depleted, Alibaba Cloud automatically bills excess usage on a pay-as-you-go basis.
-
Resource plans must be used within their purchased duration. Unused quota in an expired plan is forfeited, and Alibaba Cloud provides no refund or replacement. The validity periods of multiple plans of the same type are calculated independently and do not stack.
-
To unsubscribe from a resource plan, see Unsubscription Rules.
Live streaming traffic package
Two types are available: general purpose and standard.
A general-purpose data transfer package includes all the features of a standard data transfer package, has no region restrictions, and is more cost-effective.
General-purpose data transfer plan
This plan is designed to simplify resource package management and offers the following benefits:
-
Deducts data transfer for standard streaming, RTS, and stream ingest.
-
Offers a unified price for regions Outside the Chinese mainland, eliminating the need to purchase separate plans for different regions.
-
Applies different deduction ratios based on the service type (standard streaming or RTS) and region (Chinese mainland or Outside the Chinese mainland).
Resource package types
Global: Select this type if your business operates only in the Chinese mainland or is distributed globally (including the Chinese mainland).
Global (Excludes Chinese mainland): This specification is for businesses that operate in regions outside the Chinese mainland. It helps reduce your costs related to deduction ratio conversions. However, it cannot be used to offset usage in the Chinese mainland. If your live streaming business operates only outside the Chinese mainland, we recommend that you select this type.
Global (Excluding Chinese mainland): Recommended for businesses that operate exclusively in regions Outside the Chinese mainland. This plan cannot be used to deduct usage in the Chinese mainland.
For detailed pricing, visit the buy page.
Both plans can deduct usage Outside the Chinese mainland.
Coverage
-
Standard streaming: Covers standard streaming playback traffic (for protocols such as RTMP, FLV, and HLS) and upstream traffic (Note: Stream ingest is free of charge by default and is charged only under specific conditions. For more information, see Standard Streaming fees. If you enable upstream charging, the upstream traffic is deducted by default based on the coefficient for standard streaming).
-
Real-Time Streaming (RTS): Traffic generated when end users pull streams by using RTS (artc://).

The deduction ratio is 1 for standard streaming within the Chinese mainland and 1.612 outside. For RTS, the ratio is 1.5 within the Chinese mainland and 2.256 outside. The formula for the deducted quota is: Actual usage × Deduction ratio.
Example:
Suppose you purchase a 500 GB Global general-purpose data transfer plan and use 10 GB of standard streaming traffic and 10 GB of RTS traffic in the Chinese mainland, and 10 GB of standard streaming traffic and 10 GB of RTS traffic in regions Outside the Chinese mainland.
The remaining quota is calculated as follows: 500 GB - (10 GB × 1) - (10 GB × 1.5) - (10 GB × 1.612) - (10 GB × 2.256) = 436.32 GB.

Suppose you purchase a 500 GB Global (Excluding Chinese mainland) general-purpose data transfer plan and use 10 GB of standard streaming traffic and 10 GB of RTS traffic in regions Outside the Chinese mainland. The remaining quota is calculated as follows: 500 GB - (10 GB × 1) - (10 GB × 1.4) = 476 GB.
Standard traffic package
This plan deducts downstream traffic for standard streaming. It does not apply to RTS traffic.
Eight region-specific plans are available. Each plan deducts traffic only within its corresponding region. For example, a plan purchased for the Chinese mainland cannot be used to deduct traffic in Asia Pacific 1.

Example
A customer purchases a 500 GB regular data transfer plan for the Chinese mainland, and uses 10 GB of standard streaming traffic and 10 GB of RTS traffic in Asia Pacific 1, in addition to 10 GB of RTS traffic in the Chinese mainland. None of this usage can be deducted. The remaining quota is 500 GB.
A customer purchases a 500 GB regular data transfer plan for the Chinese mainland and uses 10 GB of standard streaming traffic in the Chinese mainland. This usage is deducted, leaving a remaining quota of 490 GB (500 GB - 10 GB).
Data transfer plan selection
Unlike a regular plan, a single general-purpose plan covers standard streaming, RTS, and upstream traffic across all regions. To select the right general-purpose plan, calculate the total equivalent data transfer required for your business and purchase a single plan that covers this amount.
Example 1:
Suppose your business previously required the following data transfer plans:
regular plan: 500 GB for the Chinese mainland × 1
RTS plan: 1 TB × 1 (1 TB = 1024 GB)
To calculate the equivalent amount for a Global general-purpose plan, apply the deduction ratios:
(500 GB × 1) + (1024 GB × 1.5) = 500 GB + 1536 GB = 2036 GB
A 2036 GB Global general-purpose plan will cover your business needs.
Example 2:
Suppose your business previously required the following data transfer plans:
regular plan: 500 GB for the Chinese mainland × 1
RTS plan: 1 TB × 1 (1 TB = 1024 GB)
regular plan: 500 GB for Europe × 1
regular plan: 500 GB for South America × 1
To calculate the equivalent amount for a Global general-purpose plan, apply the deduction ratios:
(500 GB × 1) + (1024 GB × 1.5) + (500 GB × 1.612) + (500 GB × 1.612) = 500 GB + 1536 GB + 806 GB + 806 GB = 3648 GB
A 3648 GB Global general-purpose plan will cover your business needs.
RTS data plan
Overview
The RTS data transfer plan (Chinese mainland only) is used to cover downstream playback traffic for RTS. This plan does not cover standard streaming traffic.
This plan covers playback traffic for viewers in the Chinese mainland only.
On the buy page, you can choose from seven data plan sizes: 100 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, 5 TB, 10 TB, 50 TB, and 200 TB, with a subscription period of 1 Month or 1 Year.

Billing example
Suppose you purchase a 500 GB RTS data transfer plan (Chinese mainland only). If you consume 10 GB of standard streaming traffic and 10 GB of RTS traffic in Asia Pacific 1, your plan does not cover this traffic. However, your plan does cover the 10 GB of RTS traffic that you consume in the Chinese mainland.
Your remaining quota is: 500 GB - 10 GB = 490 GB.
Live transcoding duration package
Overview
Live transcoding duration packages are available in two types: standard transcoding and Narrowband HD™ transcoding. The resource packages for these two types are metered independently and are not interchangeable.
-
Standard transcoding resource package: This package supports a wide range of transcoding needs and covers usage of H.264, H.265 (at 480p, 720p, 1080p, 2K, and 4K resolutions), and audio-only transcoding. It is ideal for use cases requiring high compatibility with various encoding formats and resolutions.
-
Narrowband HD™ transcoding resource package: This package covers usage of Narrowband HD™ transcoding with H.264 and H.265 encoding formats (at 480p, 720p, 1080p, 2K, and 4K resolutions). It uses intelligent bitrate compression technology to deliver a lower bitrate and reduce bandwidth consumption at the same resolution. This package is ideal for live streaming scenarios that are sensitive to bandwidth costs but still require high clarity.
The duration deducted from the package varies based on the encoding format and resolution.
On the buy page, you can select a Transcoding Specification of 50, 100, 1,000, 10,000, or 100,000 hours. This value represents the package's baseline duration, equivalent to transcoding H.264 at 480p. Durations for other specifications are converted from this baseline. You can also select a Purchase Duration of 1 month or 1 year. The resource package becomes active immediately upon purchase and is non-refundable and non-exchangeable. The validity periods of multiple resource packages do not stack. The system prioritizes deducting usage from the resource package. After the package is depleted, usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
