Bill settlement
Billing cycle
Machine Translation is settled on an hourly basis. Bills are generated and fees are deducted within the next hour. To avoid service disruptions due to overdue payments, ensure that your account has a sufficient balance. To ensure service continuity and stability, we offer a grace period for service suspension. You must enable this feature manually. For more information, see this link. You can also set up low balance alerts and high spending alerts in the User Center.
Free quota
The free call quota is for trial purposes only. As your business grows, purchase resource plans to support greater processing capacity. If Alibaba Cloud determines that a user is abusing the service by repeatedly activating the free trial version, Alibaba Cloud reserves the right to take action without prior notice. The user is responsible for any resulting consequences.
The free quota refreshes at 00:00 on the first day of each month. Unused free quota from the current month does not carry over to the next month.
You will not be notified when your free quota is used up. If you have not purchased a resource plan for the product, continued use of the service immediately switches to the pay-as-you-go billing method.
Fees are automatically deducted from your account balance in the next billing cycle. Bills are generated hourly. When the bill is generated, if your account balance is negative, the service is suspended immediately. Due to delays in hourly billing, your account may show a negative balance before the service is suspended.
Billing methods
Machine Translation supports the following billing methods:
Pay-as-you-go: You are charged for the resources that you use.
Resource plan: You can purchase a resource plan based on your estimated usage to use Machine Translation at a discounted price. This is a prepaid method.

Deduction order
Charges are deducted in the following order: 1) free quota, 2) resource plan, and 3) pay-as-you-go.
After your resource plan is depleted, the service automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go billing method. You can set up resource plan balance alerts in advance. For more information about how to set up alerts, see Set up resource plan balance alerts. To avoid unnecessary costs from switching to the pay-as-you-go billing method, purchase a new resource plan before your current one is depleted.
