Unsubscription instructions
The following table describes the unsubscription policies for cloud-native database PolarDB based on the billing method.
Billing method | Unsubscription instructions |
Subscription | When you purchase a subscription cloud-native database PolarDB cluster, you must make a prepayment based on the subscription duration. If your business needs change and you no longer need the subscription instance, you can request to unsubscribe. Before you unsubscribe, read the Alibaba Cloud Product Unsubscription Rules. Then, log on to the Unsubscription Management page to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, the system calculates the final fee based on your instance usage. |
Pay-as-you-go | Pay-as-you-go cloud-native database PolarDB clusters generate bills in real time based on actual usage. Therefore, unsubscription is not applicable. If you no longer need an instance, release the cloud-native database PolarDB cluster. Before you release the cluster, make sure that you have backed up or migrated your data and that your business will not be affected. After the cluster is released, billing stops. |

Pay-as-you-go items for cloud-native database PolarDB clusters can be used with cloud-native database PolarDB storage resources. You can use different types of discount plans to pay for the corresponding pay-as-you-go items at a discount. Typically, you cannot unsubscribe from these discount plans.

Switch billing methods
After you switch the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go, the remaining prepayment for the subscription instance is refunded to you. For the formula to calculate the refund amount, see Unsubscription rules.
Downgrade a subscription cluster
After you downgrade a subscription cluster or reduce the number of nodes, the price difference between the old and new configurations is refunded to you. For the formula to calculate the refund amount, see Unsubscription rules.
Cancel a renewal
After you renew a subscription cluster, if you unsubscribe before the renewal order takes effect, the renewal fee is fully refunded to you. For more information, see Unsubscription rules.
