Trial version
Can I apply for a trial version more than once?
No. Both main accounts and RAM users can apply for a trial version only once.
If my main account has a trial version, can I add RAM users to my organization?
Yes, the Advanced and Professional Editions support this. For more information, see Add an Alibaba Cloud RAM user to an organization.
My Professional Edition trial is about to expire. Can I extend it for another month?
No, you cannot extend the trial version after it expires.
If I purchase the Advanced Edition after my Professional Edition trial expires, will my existing spreadsheets and datasets be retained?
Yes, Quick BI retains all your created reports. However, features exclusive to the Professional Edition, such as spreadsheets, are no longer available in the Advanced Edition.
If I downgrade to the Personal Edition after my Professional Edition trial expires, will my data be lost?
No. Data in modules shared with the Personal Edition is retained.
Renewals
How can a RAM user continue to use the service after their subscription expires?
The main account must purchase or renew the subscription and then add the RAM user to the organization. This restores the RAM user's access and retains their previous data.
What happens to my report data if I do not renew my Professional Edition subscription after the trial ends?
If you do not renew your subscription on time, your resources are retained for 7 days. If you do not renew within this 7-day period, all resources, including your created content, are released, and your data is permanently lost.
Can I change the number of users during a renewal?
No. Renewals only extend the subscription period. You cannot change the number of users during a renewal.
Upgrades and downgrades
How long does it take for an upgrade to the Quick BI Professional Edition to take effect?
An upgrade from the Advanced Edition to the Professional Edition takes effect immediately after payment.
What happens to the data in my workspace if I downgrade from the Advanced Edition to the Personal Edition?
Your workspace data is retained.
How can I reduce the number of purchased users in Quick BI?
Currently, you cannot reduce the number of purchased users.
Unsubscribing and repurchasing
How do I unsubscribe from Quick BI value-added features such as the Professional Edition or data dashboards?
You can unsubscribe by submitting an Alibaba Cloud ticket. You can then repurchase the features as needed.
After I unsubscribe, can I still access the dashboards and reports in my original workspace? How can I prevent data loss?
When you unsubscribe, the data in your original Quick BI instance is retained.
If the number of users in the new subscription is less than the original number, users are retained based on the following priority: organization owner, organization administrator, and then by join date (earliest first). Users exceeding the new quota are disabled, and their embedded reports become inactive. Therefore, you should transfer ownership of essential resources and remove unnecessary users in advance to avoid disrupting your live embedded reports.
If I unsubscribe and then repurchase Quick BI, will the URLs of my previously published reports change?
No, the URLs do not change, and your data is retained.
Purchase and activation
Permissions for main accounts and RAM users:
The Alibaba Cloud account system manages Quick BI account permissions. Quick BI is a RAM-enabled cloud service.
Typically, only a main account can place orders, renew subscriptions, or perform upgrades. If a RAM user needs purchase permissions, the main account must grant them the AliyunQuickBIFullAccess permission policy.
Resolving the "account already a member" purchase error
The user must either be removed from their previous organization or use a different main account for the purchase.
Cannot access console after purchase
An organization administrator must add the Alibaba Cloud user to a Quick BI organization before the user can access Quick BI.
Purchasing Personal Edition after a Professional trial
You must first unsubscribe from the Professional Edition before purchasing the Personal Edition, because a main account can have only one instance ID per region.
If I purchase the Personal Edition for one user, does that mean only one account can use it?
Yes. Only the account that makes the purchase can use the service. If a main account purchases the Personal Edition, a RAM user cannot purchase it separately.
Organization and account management
How to add a user who is in another organization?
This message means the user is already in another Quick BI organization. The user must either leave their current organization or create a new RAM user to join the new organization.
Editions and entitlements
What is a "viewer" in the Professional Edition?
A viewer is a user role with view-only permission for reports and portals. Viewers cannot be added as workspace members and can only view reports shared with them.
Does the Advanced Edition include an acceleration engine quota?
Yes. Quick BI Advanced Edition 1 (Super Analyst Edition) can only be purchased by an Alibaba Cloud main account; it cannot be purchased by a RAM user or role. This edition includes Q&A Agent and visual builder capabilities by default. It does not support purchasing additional spreadsheets, data dashboards, embedded reports, or expanding the acceleration engine quota.
If I repurchase the Professional Edition after it expires, will my original data and configurations be retained?
Yes, they are retained for 7 days.
