Tair (Redis OSS-compatible) supports two billing methods: pay-as-you-go and subscription. Both methods bill based on instance specifications, not actual cache usage. For example, a 2 GB instance with 256 MB of data stored is billed for the full 2 GB capacity. You can use resource plans with pay-as-you-go instances to reduce costs.

After creating an instance, you can switch between billing methods.
Pay-as-you-go
Pay-as-you-go charges by the hour. Create and release instances as needed — charges stop as soon as an instance is released.
Billing cycle
The billing cycle is 1 hour. Partial hours are rounded up to a full hour.
Bills are generated within 1 hour after each billing cycle ends. Occasional delays may extend this to up to 3 hours. For example, the bill for 09:00–10:00 is typically generated before 11:00. Fees are automatically deducted from your account after the bill is generated.
Upgrading within a billing cycle
If you change the instance type within a billing cycle, you are charged for the higher instance type price within that cycle.
For example, if your instance capacity is 1 GB at 01:10, you upgrade to 8 GB at 01:20, and then scale down to 2 GB at 01:50, you are billed for the 8 GB capacity for the entire 01:00–02:00 cycle.
Subscription
Subscription charges upfront for a fixed commitment period: 30 days (monthly) or 365 days (yearly). For stable, long-term workloads, subscription offers a lower unit rate than pay-as-you-go.
Billing cycle
The billing cycle starts at the exact second you purchase or renew the instance (based on UTC+8:00) and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.
