Real Translation Buddy free trial guide — sign in with your Alibaba Cloud account to get free Credits and complete your first translation in 5 minutes. Team member setup is also covered.

Real Translation Buddy offers free trial Credits (50 Credits for individual accounts, 300 Credits for enterprise) — no payment required to start translating. Free Credits never expire and are shared across the organization.

Choose your trial method

Warning

Do not share your Alibaba Cloud account credentials. The owner account has elevated privileges including billing access and cloud resource management.

Start with Alibaba Cloud account

  1. Sign in to the console

    Sign in to the Real Translation Buddy Console with your Alibaba Cloud account. The system will automatically create an organization and a default workspace, and grant free Credits. You can verify your Credit balance under "Usage" in the sidebar.

  2. Upload a document and submit

    Drag a document into the upload area at the top of the workbench. The page will display page count, word count, and estimated Credits. Select a target language and click "Submit".

  3. Download the result

    Once translation is complete, click "⋮" → "Download Translation" in the task list.

No subscription purchase is required. You can submit any task as long as the estimated cost does not exceed your remaining free Credits.

Invite team members

To enable team members to use Real Translation Buddy, both the owner and member accounts need to complete the following steps:

Warning

Step 4 must be completed before Step 5: the "Members" list only shows members who have signed in at least once. If a member has not signed in, the system cannot assign them a seat.

Step 1: Alibaba Cloud account signs in

Sign in to the Real Translation Buddy Console with the Alibaba Cloud account. The system automatically creates an organization and a default workspace, and grants free Credits.

Note

The first account to sign in becomes the organization admin. During the trial, we recommend the owner signs in first to avoid RAM users inadvertently initializing the organization.

Step 2: Alibaba Cloud account claims free seats

  1. Navigate to the subscription page

    In the sidebar, go to "Subscription & Usage". On the Seats card, click "Subscribe Now" (first time) or "Buy" (if you already have a subscription).

  2. Claim free seats

    Select the free seat option (valid for 1 month), enter the required quantity, and place the order.

  3. Verify the result

    On the "Subscription & Usage" page, check the Assigned / Total indicator to view the total seat count and the number of unassigned seats.

Note

About free seats: Members must be assigned a seat before they can use the product. Free seats grant access eligibility but contain 0 Credits — all translation costs are deducted from the owner's free Credits.

Important notes:

  • Purchase one seat per team member, up to 10

  • Only the owner can purchase seats

  • Purchased seats remain in the "unassigned pool" until manually assigned in Step 5

Step 3: Alibaba Cloud account creates login accounts

Members require their own login accounts and cannot share the owner account. The following methods are supported:

RAM user (recommended)

  1. Create a RAM user

    Go to RAM Console → Users → click "Create User". Fill in the "Login Name" and "Display Name".

  2. Enable console access

    In "Access Configuration", check "Console Access". Without this, the member will not be able to sign in to the web console.

  3. Complete verification

    Follow the on-screen prompts and save the login name and password.

  4. Grant permissions

    Return to the user list → click the user → "Permissions" → "Grant Permission" → add AliyunRealTranslationAgentFullAccess.

  5. Send login credentials to the member

    Send the following three items to the member:

RAM role

For organizations that already use RAM roles, members can access Real Translation Buddy by assuming a role instead of using a dedicated RAM user.

  1. Grant AssumeRole permission to the RAM user

    Go to RAM Console → find the RAM user → Permissions → Add Permission → attach the system policy AliyunSTSAssumeRoleAccess.

    Note

    AliyunSTSAssumeRoleAccess allows the RAM user to assume all RAM roles. For finer control, create a custom policy to restrict which roles can be assumed.

  2. Ensure the target role has Real Translation Buddy access

    Find the RAM role the member will assume → Permissions → confirm AliyunRealTranslationAgentFullAccess is attached.

  3. Member switches role and signs in

    The member signs in with their RAM user, switches to the target role in the console (top-right corner), then opens the Real Translation Buddy console.

Note

The workflow with RAM roles is the same as with RAM users — the only difference is that members must switch to the role first. All operations after role switching (submitting translations, viewing tasks, etc.) are identical.

SSO single sign-on

Supports integration with DingTalk, Entra ID, or any enterprise SAML 2.0 identity system. Members can sign in using their existing company accounts. See Organization Settings & SSO for details.

Warning

SSO configuration locks after the first member signs in and cannot be modified. Please confirm the identity source before proceeding. SSO only handles authentication — seats must still be assigned in Step 5.

Step 4: Member signs in

  • RAM user: Open the sign-in URL provided by the owner, enter the login name and password (reset if prompted), then open the Real Translation Buddy console.

  • SSO user: Open the "Member Login URL" provided by the owner to sign in directly.

After sign-in, the system automatically creates a Real Translation Buddy member account. The member can access the console but cannot submit translation tasks until the owner completes Step 5.

Step 5: Alibaba Cloud account assigns seats

In the sidebar, go to "Members", find the target member, and click "Assign Seat". Repeat for each team member as needed.

Note

Seats can be reclaimed and reassigned at any time. Switching members does not require repurchasing seats.
