This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions about the action policies of Simple Log Service.
Can I create an on-duty group?
Yes. After you create an on-duty group, you can select the group as the recipient when you configure the Recipient parameter for an action policy.
Can I select different notification methods for holidays?
Yes. You can configure the Period parameter in your action policy and configure settings on the Global Default Calendar tab to specify that a notification method takes effect only during holidays.
Can I stop sending alert notifications to an O&M engineer if the O&M engineer is on a temporary leave?
Yes. If the O&M engineer is in the current on-duty group, you can create a substitute shift for the engineer. For more information, see Create an on-duty group.
If the engineer is not in the current on-duty group, you can turn off Enabled in the Edit User dialog box. For more information, see Create users and user groups.
Can I stop sending alert notifications to an O&M engineer if the O&M engineer is on a long-term leave?
Yes. In this case, you can turn off Enabled in the Edit User dialog box.
