SMS sending volume alerts
You can set an alert threshold and a quota on your SMS sending volume. This helps prevent unexpected cost spikes from malicious activity that causes a surge in your message volume.
Considerations
By default, there are no limits on your total daily or monthly sending volume. After you set an alert threshold and a quota, the system sends you an SMS notification when the volume reaches the threshold. When the volume reaches the quota, the system suspends message sending. Inaccurate estimates may disrupt your services.
The system sends a maximum of 20 alerts per day.
To continue sending messages after reaching the quota, you must manually increase it.
Procedure
Log on to the SMS console.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
Click the Security Settings tab. In the Thresholds for Overall Message Sending section, click Modify. In the panel that appears, set an alert threshold and a quota in messages.
Enter values for Threshold for Daily Overall Message Sending and Threshold for Monthly Overall Message Sending.
Click OK to complete the configuration.
When the sending volume reaches the alert threshold, Short Message Service sends an alert to the specified contact. When the sending volume reaches the quota, the system suspends message sending.
Click Mobile Phone Numbers of Contacts to modify the alert contacts. For more information, see Configure contacts.
