A card message combines the delivery of a text message with the parsing capability of mobile devices to present rich media cards and an interactive experience. Send card messages from the console for bulk or test delivery, or call an API to send them individually or in batches.

Prerequisites

Send card messages

  1. Log on to the Short Message Service console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Card Messages > Template Management.

  3. On the Mass Operations Assistant tab, click Add Sending Task, and then enter the task information as prompted on the page.

    The following table describes the parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Task name

    The name of the task. The name can be up to 30 characters long.

    Signature

    Select a signature for the task.

    SMS template

    Select an approved card message template or a public template.

    Fallback type

    Specifies the fallback behavior for mobile numbers that do not support card messages.

    • No Fallback

    • Fallback to text message

    • Fallback to digital message

    Note
    • If you select Fallback to text message, you must specify a Fallback Template. Select a text message template type and then select a template.

    • If you select Fallback to digital message, you must specify a Fallback Template. Select a template.

    Custom send content

    If you want to send custom content, select a text message type and a corresponding template.

    The service delivers the custom content to devices as a text message containing the selected text template and a card parsing link.

    Import numbers

    1. Click Download Example and enter the recipient numbers based on the example file.

    2. Click Import Numbers to import the recipient number file.

    Note
    • For optimal performance, import a maximum of 500,000 numbers at a time. The file size cannot exceed 3 MB.

    • Alternatively, add and upload recipient numbers on the Audience Data Management page. Then, select the audience data directly in this step.

    Scheduled sending

    Enable the Scheduled Sending option to specify a delivery date and time.

    Note
    • To cancel a scheduled sending task, go to the Mass Operations Assistant tab and click Revoke within 5 minutes before the scheduled sending time.

    • For messages sent to the Chinese mainland, you can schedule sending only between 08:00 and 22:00 daily.

  4. Click Submit Sending Task.

    After you submit the task, processing is typically completed within 10 minutes.

Send a test message

  1. On the Public Templates page, select a test template. In the Preset Template - Test Sending dialog box that appears, the top section displays read-only information, such as Template Code, Sending Code, Template Purpose, Template Type, Creation Time, Approval Status, and the review progress for each device manufacturer, while the right side of the dialog box shows a preview of the card message on a mobile phone.

  2. Select a signature and enter the phone numbers.

  3. Click Test Send.
