If you already use the new bills, use this topic to understand how the new bill UI differs from the old one and what each field means in reports such as Bill Details, Split Bill, and Cost Details.

Differences between the new and old bills

Alibaba Cloud has fully upgraded bills to the new version and is gradually closing the entry points to the old bills. Current status:

  • The new bills are the default version and cover all bill data.

  • The entry points to the old bills are being phased out. If the old entry point is already closed for your account and you still need historical bill data in the old format, export the data through bill subscription to OSS. For more information, see Export and subscribe to bills.

Description

UI of each version

New bills

The new bills are available in the new (blue) edition of the Expenses and Costs console. Key changes:

  • Upgrades Bill Details and Split Bill to provide a new structured bill.

  • Adds the Cost Details and Bill Subscription features.

Other bill types, such as Overview of Monthly Bill and Allocated Cost, remain the same as the old version.

New Bill Details page: The filter area supports filtering by billing month, enterprise/organization/account, product name, commodity name, cost type, resource name/instance ID, and order number. The structured bill table below includes columns such as identifiers (order number), account information (resource purchaser account ID, resource purchaser account, resource owner account ID, and resource owner account), service entity, billing month, bill date, and cost type.

Old bills

The old bill version provided in the old (orange) edition of the Expenses and Costs console

The filter area of the old Bill Details page includes statistic item (billable item, instance, product, account, or financial unit), statistic period (billing month, day, or detail), billing month, product name, commodity name, resource group, and instance name/ID. The result table shows columns such as resource purchaser account, resource owner account, billing month, and product and commodity information.

Subscription credit details

SubscriptionDetails/SubscriptionDeductDetails

When a bill has fees offset by a subscription (savings plan), the credit details, including the savings plan credit discount, savings plan instance ID, type, and commitment amount.

Example: Assume that a subscription (savings plan) has an hourly commitment of 2 CNY per hour and can offset ecs.g6.xlarge instances. The regular pay-as-you-go unit price is 1 CNY per instance per hour, and the savings plan discount for the ecs.g6 instance family in the China (Shanghai) region is 60% off. The discounted unit price is 1 × 0.4 = 0.4 CNY per instance per hour. Each hour, this savings plan can offset the pay-as-you-go bills of at most 2/0.4 = 5 ecs.g6.xlarge instances.

Assume that 5 instances run in a given hour. In that cycle:

[Subscription credit total list price] = 1/instance/hour × 5 instances × 1 hour = 5 CNY.

Because the fee is fully offset by the savings plan, [Amount after subscription credit] = 0 CNY.

[Subscription credit amount], the commitment amount consumed by the subscription (savings plan) itself, = 2 CNY.
