This topic describes how to adjust display settings for your cloud computer, including resolution, UI scaling, display quality, full-screen mode, and dual-screen mode. Using dual-screen mode improves your work efficiency by allowing you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with fewer screen switches.
This topic uses the macOS client V7.13 and the Enterprise Edition as an example. If your experience differs from the description in this topic, you may be using a different client or an outdated version. Upgrade to the latest version. For more information about the Personal Edition, see Personal Cloud Computer.
Prerequisites
You are logged on to the desktop client. For more information, see Log on to a desktop client.
The desktop client is version V6.2 or later.
You have an available cloud computer. If no cloud computer is available after you log on, contact your IT administrator to assign one. For more information, see Assign a cloud computer to a user.
Adjust resolution and UI scaling
You can adjust the display resolution and UI scaling for your cloud computer on the desktop client.
Connect to the cloud computer.
Open the DesktopAssistant and click Settings.
Navigate to the Preferences > Display tab and configure the settings.
Administrator-controlled mode
If your administrator configures Resolution Settings as Fixed in the policy associated with your cloud computer, you cannot change the resolution, and UI scaling is locked at 100%.
End user-defined mode
If your administrator configures Resolution Settings as Adaptive in the policy associated with your cloud computer, you can change the Resolution and Exit.
NoteNon-graphics cloud computers support a maximum resolution of 2K, while graphics cloud computers support up to 4K. If you require a higher resolution, such as 4K, we recommend that you purchase a graphics cloud computer. Ensure your on-premises computer also supports the target resolution.
Adjust display quality
You can adjust the display quality of your cloud computer on the desktop client.
Connect to the cloud computer.
Open the DesktopAssistant and click Settings.
Navigate to the Preferences > Graphic tab and configure the settings.
Administrator-controlled mode
If your administrator specifies a display mode in the policy for your cloud computer, your display preferences are locked to that mode and cannot be changed. This feature requires the cloud computer's image version to be
V2.1.0or later. For example, if the administrator sets the display mode to Daily Office Scenario, your display preference is locked to that setting.End user-defined mode
If your administrator sets the display mode to End User Custom Configuration in the policy for your cloud computer (this feature requires the image version to be
V2.1.0or later), or if your cloud computer has an image version earlier thanV2.1.0, you can select one of the following options on the Graphic tab:Intelligent: Automatically adjusts the frame rate and display quality based on the use case, device, and network conditions.
Best Performance: The maximum supported frame rate is 60 FPS and the maximum display quality is Good. You cannot modify the maximum frame rate or display quality.
Best Quality: The maximum supported frame rate is 30 FPS and the maximum display quality is High. You cannot modify the maximum frame rate or display quality.
Custom: You can customize display quality parameters. A higher frame rate and better display quality require a more powerful device and a more stable network. The real-time frame rate and display quality are dynamically adjusted based on your device and network conditions.
Max. Frame Rate: The number of frames displayed per second. A higher frame rate results in smoother motion. Unit: FPS (frames per second). The value can be set to any number from 10 to 60.
Image Quality: The maximum display quality.
NoteThe available options depend on the quality policies enabled by your administrator for this cloud computer. If the current quality settings do not meet your needs, contact your administrator to enable more quality policies.
Use full-screen mode
By default, the cloud computer opens in window mode.
Enter full-screen mode
To enter full-screen mode, open the DesktopAssistant on the cloud computer desktop and select Full Screen.
Exit full-screen mode
You can exit full-screen mode in one of the following ways:
Open the DesktopAssistant on the cloud computer desktop and select Exit Fullscreen. The cloud computer returns to window mode.
Open the DesktopAssistant on the cloud computer desktop and select Minimize. This hides the cloud computer desktop, showing only your on-premises computer desktop.
NoteThe Minimize feature is supported only on the Windows client V6.7 or later.
Press the keyboard shortcut
Ctrl+Qto exit full-screen mode.NoteThis keyboard shortcut is supported only on the Windows client V7.7 or later.
Use dual-screen mode
Using dual-screen mode improves your work efficiency by allowing you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with fewer screen switches.
When your on-premises computer is connected to an external display, you can use the dual-screen feature by enabling the Cloud Computer Dual Displays switch. After the cloud computer enters full-screen mode, its dual-screen display (Extend mode or Duplicate mode) matches the settings of your on-premises computer by default. This setting applies only to the current cloud computer. To apply the change, exit and re-enter full-screen mode.
Dual-screen settings apply only to the current cloud computer.
Prerequisites
A second display is connected to your on-premises computer and is working correctly.
To set the resolution and UI scaling for each screen separately in dual-screen mode, ensure that the image version of the cloud computer is V2.5.1 or later.
Enable dual-screen mode
Before you enable dual-screen mode, ensure that an external display is connected to your on-premises computer and functions properly.
Connect to the cloud computer.
Open the DesktopAssistant and click Settings.
Navigate to the Preferences > Display tab and turn on the Cloud Computer Dual Displays switch.
If this switch is off, the cloud computer enters full-screen mode only on its current display, while the other display continues to show your on-premises computer's desktop.
Enter dual-screen mode
After you enable dual-screen mode, the cloud computer desktop is displayed on both screens when you enter full-screen mode.
By default, the dual-screen display mode of the cloud computer matches the projection settings of your on-premises computer (Duplicate mode or Extend mode).
Set resolution and scaling for each screen
When the cloud computer is in dual-screen mode, you can set the resolution and UI scaling for each screen separately.
Connect to the cloud computer.
Open the DesktopAssistant and click Settings.
Navigate to the Preferences > Display tab and set the resolution and UI scaling for the primary screen and secondary screen respectively.
NoteEnsure that the image version of the cloud computer is V2.5.1 or later.
Minimize the cloud computer desktop
You can use the Minimize feature in the DesktopAssistant to quickly switch from the cloud computer desktop back to your on-premises computer desktop.
The Minimize feature is supported only on the Windows client V6.7 or later.
When the cloud computer is in dual-screen mode, using the Exit Fullscreen option resets the window layout. For example, windows spread across both screens are consolidated onto a single screen the next time you enter full-screen mode. To preserve your window layout, select Minimize from the DesktopAssistant.
