This topic describes how to configure and use a hardware terminal, using a WUYING AIO 23.8 V6.4.0 as an example.

Configure the hardware terminal

Note
  • Configuration entry points and the user interface (UI) may vary based on the device version. The UI on your device takes precedence.

  • For the best experience with WUYING AIO 23.8, we recommend updating the hardware terminal to the latest version.

You can configure the hardware terminal from the System Settings panel on your WUYING AIO 23.8. The entry point for system settings differs depending on whether you are logged on to the hardware terminal. Follow the appropriate steps below:

  • Before you log on to the terminal: Click the p554245..png icon in the lower-left corner and then click Settings to open the System Settings panel.

  • After you log on to the terminal: Click the p554245..png icon in the lower-left corner, click the 个人中心1.PNG icon in the upper-right corner of the pop-up page, and then click Settings to open the System Settings panel.

In the System Settings panel, you can configure the following items:

Parameter

Description

Configure network

Click Network. You can configure the wireless LAN and wired network.

Wireless LAN: On the Wireless LAN tab, you can connect to a specific Wi-Fi network, set a preferred network, and configure the wireless network adapter.

Wired network: On the Wired Network tab, you can enable or disable the wired network and configure the wired network adapter. To enable the wired network, make sure an Ethernet cable or a wired network adapter is connected.

Configure screen display

Click Preferences and go to the Display tab to configure the following settings:

Basic settings: In this section, you can adjust the screen brightness and resolution. If an external monitor is connected, you must configure its resolution in the Dual-screen settings section.

Dual-screen settings: This section appears if you connect an external monitor. You can configure the access mode, relative position, and resolution for the primary and secondary screens.

Adjust volume for output/input devices

Click Preferences and go to the Sound tab. Select Output Device or Input Device and adjust the volume.

Configure the mouse and keyboard

Click Preferences and go to the Ergonomic Input Device tab to configure the following settings:

  • Mouse settings: You can set the mouse tracking speed and primary button.

  • Keyboard settings: You can switch between Chinese and English input methods and set shortcut keys. Only Chinese and U.S. English input methods are supported.

Configure the system language and region

Click Preferences and go to the Language and Region tab to select the system language and region.

Note

The system applies settings that comply with the policies and regulations of the selected country or region.

  • If your region is not in the list, select Singapore.

  • If you change the region, you must restart the device for the new settings to take effect.

Update the system or perform a factory reset

Click About WUYING and go to the System Update tab to configure the following settings:

System update: Click Check for Updates. If no new version is found, a message indicates that the system is up to date. If a new version is detected, click Download New Version. After the download is successful, click Download Successful. Restart Now to restart the device and complete the update.

Note

If an administrator enables auto-update for your hardware terminal in the Elastic Desktop Service console, the terminal automatically installs received update packages. This is a mandatory update, and you cannot disable auto-update on the hardware terminal.

Factory reset: A factory reset clears user settings and data saved on the hardware terminal, including fingerprints, volume settings, and network configurations. However, this operation does not clear the configurations and data in your cloud computers, cloud apps, and cloud files, nor does it roll back the version. For example, if you update to the latest version, you cannot roll back to a previous version by performing a factory reset.

Account and security settings

Important

You must log on to the hardware terminal to configure account and security settings.

  • Account settings: Click Account and Security and go to the Account Settings tab. On this tab, you can view your WUYING account, organization ID, or workspace ID (office network ID).

  • Security settings: Click Account and Security and go to the Security Settings tab. You can set a screen lock password, specify the idle time before the locked terminal goes to sleep, and enable or disable auto logon.
