After logging on to the mobile client, your assigned cloud computers appear as cards. You can use these cards to connect to your cloud computers and manage their power.
The examples in this topic are based on the iOS client V7.7 and the Enterprise Edition. If your experience differs from the description in this topic, you may be using a different client or an outdated version. Upgrade to the latest version.
Prerequisites
You have logged on to the mobile client. For more information, see Log on to the mobile client.
You have an assigned cloud computer. If no cloud computer is available, contact your IT administrator to get one assigned. For more information, see Assign cloud computers to users.
Connect and disconnect
Connect
If a cloud computer card shows Running in the upper-right corner, tap the icon in the lower-right corner to connect.
If you have only one cloud computer assigned to your account, it may connect automatically after you log on. You can change this in the client settings.
Disconnect
After connecting to the cloud computer, tap the DesktopAssistant and then tap Disconnected.
Auto-connect sole cloud computer
If you have only one cloud computer, you can configure it to automatically connect after you log on.
Open the client.
Go to Me > Security Center.
On the Sign-in Security tab, in the Auto-connect Sole Cloud Computer section, select or clear one or more of the following options as needed:
Running cloud computers — Automatically connect
Hibernated cloud computers — Automatically wake up and connect
Stopped cloud computers — Automatically start and connect
Manage power
Like a physical computer, a cloud computer supports power operations such as start, shut down, restart, and hibernate. You can manage your cloud computer's power from the Cloud Resources screen.
Start
If a cloud computer card is grayed out and shows Stopped, tap the icon to start it. Once started, the card shows Running in the upper-right corner.
Shut down
Shutting down terminates all running processes and may result in the loss of unsaved files and data. Before shutting down the cloud computer, save or back up your data.
You can shut down a cloud computer in the following ways:
Shut down directly
When connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, tap Shut Down, and then tap OK.
NoteThis operation is supported only on Windows cloud computers that use the ASP protocol.
When not connected to the cloud computer: On the Cloud Resources screen, on the cloud computer card, choose Power > Shut Down, and then tap OK.
Scheduled shutdown
You can create a policy to automatically shut down the cloud computer after a set period of disconnection.
On the cloud computer card, tap Manage, and then tap Policies.
In the Scheduled Tasks upon Disconnection section, select a disconnection duration and set the action to Shut Down.
NoteIf your IT administrator has disabled policy modification, the settings on this panel are read-only.
Hibernate
Hibernation saves all open files and running processes on the cloud computer. When you wake the cloud computer, you can resume your work exactly where you left off.
Hibernation is not supported for high-frequency office type and all graphics type cloud computers.
Hibernation is not supported in the following regions:
Philippines (Manila)
Saudi Arabia (Riyadh)
China East 1 Finance Cloud
China North 2 Alibaba Gov Cloud 1
The system automatically shuts down a cloud computer after 15 consecutive days of hibernation. Save your data regularly to prevent data loss.
Only cloud computers that are Running or In Use can be hibernated. You cannot create or use a restore point for a Hibernated cloud computer.
Hibernate directly
When connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, tap Hibernate, and then tap OK.
NoteThis operation is supported only on Windows cloud computers that use the ASP protocol.
When not connected to the cloud computer: On the Cloud Resources screen, on the cloud computer card, choose Power > Hibernate, and then tap OK.
NoteThe card for a hibernated cloud computer shows hibernated in the upper-right corner. To wake up and connect to the cloud computer, tap Connect. The wake-up process typically takes about 30 seconds.
Scheduled hibernation
You can create a policy to automatically hibernate the cloud computer after a set period of disconnection.
On the cloud computer card, tap Manage, and then tap Policies.
In the Scheduled Tasks upon Disconnection section, select a disconnection duration and set the action to Hibernate.
NoteIf your IT administrator has disabled policy modification, the settings on this panel are read-only.
Restart
Restarting terminates all running processes and may result in the loss of unsaved files and data. Before restarting the cloud computer, save or back up your data.
When connected to the cloud computer: Open the DesktopAssistant, tap Restart, and then tap OK.
NoteThis operation is supported only on Windows cloud computers that use the ASP protocol.
When not connected to the cloud computer: On the Cloud Resources screen, on the cloud computer card, choose Power > Restart, and then tap OK.
