Overview of the intelligent delivery tool

Updated at:

The Intelligent Delivery Tool is a deployment support tool for Alibaba Cloud WUYING Workspace. It helps O&M (Operations and Maintenance) engineers and system integrators survey, configure, and deploy on-site environments for workspaces. The tool provides features such as network environment assessment, peripheral compatibility detection, driver migration, and online image creation to resolve issues related to environment assessment, peripheral compatibility, and delivery efficiency during large-scale workspace deployments.

Scenarios

  • Network environment assessment and capacity planning before deployment: Before a large-scale deployment of workspaces, you can assess the on-site network quality using the network test feature of the Intelligent Delivery Tool. This feature simulates business scenarios and performs an environment survey. Based on the test results, the tool calculates the number of workspaces that the current network can support. The tool can also recommend the required bandwidth for a planned number of workspaces to assist with network planning.

  • Ensure local peripherals are available on workspaces: To use local external devices on a workspace, you can use the peripheral deployment tool feature to scan and detect them. This lets you check their compatibility with WUYING Workspace and migrate the required drivers to the workspace.

  • Standardized image creation and deployment for large-scale scenarios: When deploying uniformly configured workspaces for many users, you can use the image creation feature to create a standard image that includes application software, system configurations, and security policies. You can use this image for batch deployments to ensure consistency and compliance across all workspaces and to improve deployment efficiency.

  • Workspace performance monitoring: To monitor the utilization of core workspace resources and network data, you can use the workspace performance monitoring and diagnostics feature. This feature provides a comprehensive view of workspace resource usage and health. It can quickly detect connection, network, and logon issues, generate automated analysis reports, and provide solutions. This helps businesses troubleshoot faults efficiently, reduce service interruptions, and optimize resource usage.

  • Local data migration: If you have data or files on a local computer that you want to migrate to a WUYING Workspace, you can use the data migration tool to transfer the data. This lets you continue your previous work on the workspace.

Download and installation

Note

The Intelligent Delivery Tool runs only on the Windows operating system.

  1. On your local Windows computer, download the deployment tool installation package.

  2. Open the installation package. On the Select Components page, select the components to install and click Next. For best results, select all components.

  3. On the Choose Install Location page, use the default installation location or enter a custom location, and then click Install.

Log on to the deployment tool

To use the features of the deployment tool, you must log on with a deployment authorization code. A deployment authorization code is a credential that allows an O&M engineer to perform survey and deployment tasks on behalf of a WUYING Workspace customer. The customer generates this code in the WUYING Workspace console.

Step 1: A WUYING Workspace administrator generates and provides the authorization code

  1. Log on to the WUYING Workspace Enterprise Edition console or the WUYING Workspace console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Overview. On the right side of the page, in the Deployment Authorization Code section, click Generate Authorization Code.

  3. After the authorization code is generated, click Copy on the right and send the code to the O&M engineer.

Note

For security reasons, each authorization code is valid for only 7 days. After it expires, it is automatically renewed.

Step 2: The O&M engineer logs on to the deployment tool with the authorization code

  1. Open the deployment tool and click Log On in the upper-right corner.

  2. Enter the authorization code and click Log On.

  3. After you successfully log on, you can click the profile picture in the upper-right corner to view the Alibaba Cloud account ID (aliuid) of the account that issued the authorization code and the Log Out option.
