High-speed data transfer plan

• Key concepts

  A high-speed data transfer plan is a service offered by Web Hosting. If you use up your monthly high-speed data transfer, your host automatically switches to a minimum bandwidth mode. This ensures your website remains accessible. The following concepts are related:

  • peak bandwidth: The maximum bandwidth of an exclusive cloud virtual host.

  • high-speed data transfer: The data transfer that occurs when your host operates at its peak bandwidth.

  • minimum bandwidth: The bandwidth mode your host uses after its high-speed data transfer allowance is exhausted. The minimum bandwidth is 1 Mbps, and data transfer at this speed is unlimited.

  Details:

  • Your high-speed data transfer usage is measured starting from the time you purchase the Web Hosting host. If the monthly high-speed data transfer is exhausted, the host automatically falls back to minimum bandwidth mode.

  • On the first day of each month, the high-speed data transfer plan resets, and the host's peak bandwidth is restored.

    Only certain exclusive cloud virtual host plans include high-speed data transfer. The following table details these plans.

  • Limitations

    • You cannot purchase additional bandwidth or data transfer.

    • You can upgrade your plan.

      When you upgrade from a lower-tier to a higher-tier host, your available data transfer is adjusted. The new amount is the total monthly allowance of your new plan, minus the high-speed data transfer you have already used in the current billing cycle. For example, if you upgrade from an Exclusive Advanced Enhanced Edition host to an Exclusive Deluxe Enhanced Edition host after using 300 GB of data:

      Available high-speed data transfer = Total allowance of the Exclusive Deluxe Enhanced Edition (1,500 GB) - Data transfer already used (300 GB). After the upgrade, you will have 1,200 GB of high-speed data transfer available.

      Note

      You can also upgrade from an existing shared virtual host or a bandwidth-based exclusive cloud virtual host, provided the upgrade is from a lower to a higher specification plan. For instructions on how to upgrade your host, see Upgrade Web Hosting.

    • All outbound data transfer from the server is metered. This includes data from HTTP access and downloads, FTP downloads, and any other outbound connections from your applications, such as database connections.

Procedure

1. Log on to the Web Hosting management page.

2. Find the host that you want to manage and click Manage in the Actions column.

3. View information about the high-speed data transfer plan for your exclusive cloud virtual host, including data transfer and peak bandwidth.

   • View data transfer

     1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose data transfer status > data transfer query.

     2. View your host's monthly high-speed data transfer plan information, including the total and used high-speed data transfer. The data transfer query page displays the host's current data transfer usage. The statistics area at the bottom includes Total High-speed Data Transfer, High-speed Data Transfer Used This Month, and the Usage Ratio, which is shown as a progress bar. You can select a month from the drop-down list at the top.

        Note

        The website access statistics report counts only data transfer from web access, which is calculated based on HTTP access logs. Other types of outbound data transfer are not included in these logs. Therefore, the total data transfer shown in the report does not represent the host's total outbound data transfer.    • View peak bandwidth

     1. In the left-side navigation pane, click host information.

     2. In the configuration information section, you can view the peak bandwidth of your host. This value is listed as Bandwidth (for example, Bandwidth: 10M).
