Reset your host management console password and FTP password periodically to improve the security of your site. You can also reset these passwords if you forget them.
The Cloud Web Hosting management console password is used to log on to the host management console. The FTP password is used to configure your site program when you build your site and to connect to your Cloud Web Hosting instance using an FTP client.
Prerequisites
You have an Alibaba Cloud account and its password. If you forget your account credentials, see How do I reset a forgotten password?.
Reset the host management console password
The steps to reset the host management console password depend on your current interface. The steps are as follows:
Cloud Web Hosting management page
- Log on to the Cloud Web Hosting management page.
On the Cloud Web Hosting page, find the instance for which you want to reset the management console password. In the Actions column, choose .
In the Reset Management Password dialog box, enter and confirm the new management password, and then click Confirm.
NoteWhen you reset the host management password, follow these naming conventions:
Must be composed of at least three of the following character types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters
()`~!@#$%^&-+=|{}[]:;<>,.?/.Must be 8 to 20 characters in length.
- In the dialog box that appears, click Confirm.
Cloud Web Hosting management console
- Log on to the Cloud Web Hosting console.
- In the navigation pane on the left, click Site Information.
On the Site Information page, in the Account Information section, click [Reset Password] next to Host Management Console Password.
In the Management Console Password Reset dialog box, enter and confirm the new password, and then click Confirm.
NoteWhen you reset the host management console password, follow these naming conventions:
Must be composed of at least three of the following character types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters
()`~!@#$%^&-+=|{}[]:;<>,.?/.Must be 8 to 20 characters in length.
When a success message appears, the host console password has been reset.
Reset the FTP logon password
- Log on to the Cloud Web Hosting management page.
- Find the Cloud Web Hosting instance that you want to manage and click Manage in the Actions column.
On the Site Information page, in the Account Information section, click [Reset Password] next to FTP Logon Password.
In the FTP Password Reset dialog box, enter and confirm the new password, and then click Confirm.
NoteWhen you reset the FTP password, follow these naming conventions:
Must be composed of at least three of the following character types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters
()`~!@#$%^&-+=|{}[]:;<>,.?/.Must be 8 to 20 characters in length.
When a success message appears, the FTP password has been reset.
