To record and analyze the execution of SQL statements with the SQL Explorer and Audit feature, enable the DAS Enterprise Edition (NoSQL-compatible) service. Depending on the billing method, Enterprise Edition comes in different versions. This topic covers the supported databases, regions, billing details, benefits, and usage notes for each version of Enterprise Edition.

Important
  • This service has been renamed to DAS Enterprise Edition.

  • DAS Economy Edition will be upgraded to O&M Service between July and August 2025. After the upgrade, Enterprise Edition instances will no longer include the features of the original Economy Edition. If you need these features, you must enable O&M Service. For more information, see Announcement on Separating Economy Edition Features and Charging for O&M Service.

DAS Enterprise Edition

DAS Enterprise Edition V3 provides features such as SQL logging, SQL Explorer, log indexing, security audit, and compliance audit for operations and compliance scenarios.

Important

You can no longer purchase new subscriptions for Enterprise Edition V0, V1, or V2. You also cannot upgrade the specifications of Enterprise Edition V1. You can migrate from Enterprise Edition V1 and V2 to Enterprise Edition V3 for free if the data retention period does not exceed 30 days. You are charged based on your current version until the migration is complete. After the migration is complete, you are charged based on the target version.

You can view the DAS Enterprise Edition version of your database instance in the upper-right corner of the instance details page or on the Edition Management page in the DAS console.

Supported databases and regions

Benefits

Enabling DAS Enterprise Edition provides the following features:

Important

When you enable DAS Enterprise Edition, the SQL Explorer and Audit feature records all Data Query Language (DQL), Data Manipulation Language (DML), and Data Definition Language (DDL) operations. The database kernel outputs this information with minimal impact on CPU usage.

  • Audit: Search for SQL statements across multiple dimensions and export the results.

  • Security audit (old version): Detects high-risk SQL statements, SQL injection attacks, abnormal SQL statements, and new access sources to protect your data.

  • Security audit (new version): Uses built-in security audit rules to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in your database to ensure secure database operations. You can also customize rules for different applications and scenarios to achieve precise control over database access.

  • SQL Explorer: Provides rapid fault diagnosis, SQL template and traffic retrieval, and SQL health checks.

    • Pre-calculates, analyzes, aggregates, and stores SQL data with a one-minute granularity.

    • Quickly locates and resolves faults caused by problematic SQL statements.

    • Supports exporting SQL templates and traffic data from your database.

  • Traffic playback and stress testing: Performs intelligent capacity assessment, playback testing, and peak stress testing based on historical business traffic and scenarios.

  • Automatic SQL optimization: Automatically identifies problematic SQL queries, generates index optimization suggestions, and creates indexes without causing table locks.

  • Enhanced compliance auditing: Supports log storage for more than 180 days and provides capabilities such as multi-AZ backup, accidental deletion recovery, and long-term retention. This helps you meet database audit log backup and recovery requirements under regulations such as MLPS and GDPR.

Notes

  • After you purchase DAS Enterprise Edition, you may encounter the following issues due to version limitations:

    • Self-managed databases: Enterprise Edition is not available for self-managed databases due to version limitations.

    • Alibaba Cloud database: For information about the supported databases and regions, see Product editions.

  • DAS provides the storage for DAS Enterprise Edition, which does not consume the storage of your database instance.

  • You can use the Audit, Security audit (old version), and SQL Explorer features only for data generated after you enable DAS Enterprise Edition and within the specified Data Storage Duration period.

  • Disabling DAS Enterprise Edition for a database instance also disables the SQL Explorer and Audit feature. This action does not affect your business operations, but it deletes all related data, including SQL Explorer data and analytical data. Before you disable DAS Enterprise Edition, export and save your data locally. For more information about data export, see Disable SQL Explorer and Audit.

  • After you enable or disable DAS Enterprise Edition for a database instance, you must wait about 3 minutes before performing the operation again.
