The DataV Business Intelligence (BI) analysis feature is built on the data mapping capabilities of DataV 6.0. This feature lets you explore relationships within your data through simple model building, visual binding, and interactive dynamic data queries. This process enriches creation patterns for visualization views and completes the visualization analysis loop. This topic describes the basic concepts of the BI analysis pattern.

The BI analysis pattern lets you use and analyze data to produce views in a flexible, no-code, and automated way. The BI analysis feature consists of three main parts:

  • DataV dataset: After you create a dataset, you can use its data query and model building features. The BI analysis pattern provides a quick and easy widget analysis pattern that lets you use DataV dataset features on familiar widgets. For more information, see Build a BI analysis widget and configure a dataset.

  • Widget analysis pattern: This pattern uses a data-centric flow to create widgets. The flow includes automated style configuration and exploratory view building. By optimizing how data is attached to views, this pattern simplifies the creation of visualizations from data-generated models. For more information, see Enter the widget analysis pattern and Data pane features in the BI analysis pattern.

  • Analytical interaction: This type of interaction builds on DataV datasets and the widget analysis pattern. It adds interactive dynamic data query capabilities, such as drill down and filter interaction, to widgets. This feature incorporates data model changes based on user feedback into the dashboard's interactions to complete the visualization analysis loop. For more information, see Use the BI analyzer for interactions.
