Custom: Select identified issues manually and define custom goals and tracking methods.

  2. Click Confirm to go to the Create Plan page.

  3. Configure the governance plan parameters.

    1. Configure the Basic information parameters.

Set a Plan Name and add a brief Description.

    2. Configure the Governance Plan Goal.

Set the Core Goal and the Validity Period. These parameters define the target to be achieved within the plan's period. The governance goal is considered achieved when this target is met.

For example, if you set Storage saved >= 20 GB, you must save at least 20 GB of storage to meet the goal.

The available governance goals for each template are:

      Governance plan template

      Governance goals

      Storage resource optimization

Storage saved, Issues optimized, Tables optimized, Overall health score, Storage health score

      Computing resource optimization

Computing CU saved, Issues optimized, Tasks optimized, Overall health score, Computing health score

      Data stability optimization

      Custom

All the above governance goals are available for selection.

    3. Select the governance scope.

      1. Select the default governance scope.

The system automatically selects governance items based on the plan type across the computing, storage, development, quality, and security dimensions. By default, all issues under these items are selected. The system also estimates the potential benefits if all identified issues are addressed, which helps owners evaluate the expected outcomes. The actual governance results and goal achievement depend on the final scope that is applied.

        Note

The default governance items are automatically selected based on the current plan template, governance goal, and time period.

      2. Manage selection details.

Click Manage Selected Items to review the included governance items and adjust the selections based on your goals. To exclude items that do not require immediate action, toggle the Selection Status switch in the list, or use the Operations Performed on All Items > Select all / Deselect all option at the bottom to select or deselect items in batches.

      3. Click Close. Review the plan content. If the content is correct, click Next Step.

    4. Configure governance team members.

By default, the governance team includes the Plan Owner, Task Handled By, and Viewer.

      • Plan Owner: The plan owner is the user who is currently logged on to the console. The plan owner creates and manages the governance plan and tracks its progress.

      • Task Handled By: The task assignees are automatically added based on the owners of the selected issues. Task assignees can view the tasks that are assigned to them in the governance plan.

      • Viewer: Click Add Member to include users who can view the plan and receive governance notifications.

    5. Configure governance progress notifications.

Set the Recipient, Periodic Notification Time, and Notification Method. After you publish the plan, the system tracks the daily governance progress against your goals and displays the progress on the plan details page. Periodic summaries and automated notifications help the plan owner drive progress toward the goals.

  4. Click Save and Publish to publish the governance plan.
