This topic describes the billing methods and offset rules for Alibaba Cloud Document Mind resource plans.

Overview of resource plans

Resource plans are subscription-based packages. You can select a resource plan of a specific size as needed. You must purchase at least one resource plan, and you can stack multiple plans. Resource plans are valid for one year from the date of purchase. During the validity period, billable calls are first deducted from the resource plan's quota. Any unused quota automatically expires at the end of the validity period.
If you purchase multiple resource plans for the same feature, the plan with the earliest expiration date is used first. If multiple resource plans for the same feature expire on the same date, one is randomly selected to offset charges.

Important

When your resource plan expires or its quota is exhausted, the service automatically switches to the pay-as-you-go billing method.
When a resource plan is exhausted, the billing method automatically switches to pay-as-you-go. To avoid service interruptions due to an insufficient account balance, ensure that your account has sufficient funds.

Purchase process

Log in to the Document Mind console. On the Service Management and Activation page, select and activate the product you need.
On the Service Management and Activation page in the Document Mind console, click Purchase Resource Plan. Alternatively, on the product page, click Subscription Resource Plan. You can then view the available resource plan specifications, purchase the product you need, and complete the payment.
After the purchase is complete, go to the Service Management and Activation page in the Document Mind console to view your purchased products. Charges for your usage are then offset by the plan.
OCR document self-learning resource plans can currently be purchased only through the provided links. You can view your purchased resource plans on the Expenses and Costs > Resource Plans page.

Billing examples

For example, if you purchase a 10,000-page resource plan for PDF to Word conversion and consume 5,000 pages in a month by making API calls and using lightweight applications, you will not receive a pay-as-you-go bill. Your complimentary 1,000-page free quota is applied first, so only 4,000 pages are deducted from your resource plan. Your remaining balance is 6,000 pages (10,000 - 4,000 = 6,000).

In the next calendar month, the user consumes a total of 8,000 pages for PDF to Word conversion through API calls and light applications. The remaining 6,000 pages from the resource plan are used to offset the charges. The excess 2,000 pages are billed using the pay-as-you-go method at a rate of CNY 0.1 per page. Therefore, the user's bill for this calendar month is (8,000 - 6,000) × 0.1 = CNY 200.

Offset and unsubscription rules

Offset rules

Offset order: Charges are first offset against the free quota. After the free quota is used up, charges are offset against resource plans in order of their expiration dates, starting with the plan that expires first. If multiple resource plans for the same feature expire on the same date, one is randomly selected to offset charges.

For example, if you purchase two PDF to Word resource plans of the same size that expire on February 1, 2023 and February 4, 2023, the plan that expires on February 1, 2023 is used first.

After the quotas of all resource plans for a product are exhausted, any excess usage is automatically billed using the pay-as-you-go method.

Other offset rules: A resource plan for a specific product can be used only to offset the charges for API calls and light applications for that product. Cross-product offsets are not supported. Charges for different products are calculated separately, even if each product has a resource plan.

For example, a resource plan for PDF to Word conversion can be used only to offset charges for PDF to Word conversion. It cannot be used to offset charges for other products, such as PDF to Excel or Image to Word conversion.

Unsubscription rules

You can request a refund for a resource plan if it is unused and still within its validity period. Refunds are not provided for resource plans that have expired or have been used. For more information about the refund process, see Refund policy.
