Renew and purchase cloud resources and top up your account balance in the Alibaba Cloud app

The Alibaba Cloud app lets you renew and purchase cloud products and top up your account balance. You can manage your cloud resources on mobile devices to ensure your services remain continuous and available.

Limits

Only Alipay and UnionPay are supported for renewing or purchasing cloud products and topping up your account balance in the Alibaba Cloud app.

Renew cloud products

The Alibaba Cloud app supports renewals for many cloud products, such as Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Simple Application Server, and databases. The app provides filtering options for renewal periods and management methods. This lets you quickly manage resource renewals by category on your mobile device. This topic shows you how to renew a subscription ECS instance as an example.

The Alibaba Cloud app supports the following renewal methods:

Note

The Alibaba Cloud app only supports viewing the renewal method of a resource. To modify the renewal method, use a PC. For more information, see Renew an expired resource.

  • Manual renewal: You must manually renew the resource. If a resource expires and is not renewed, it may enter a recovery state or be released.

  • Auto-renewal

    • For resources with auto-renewal enabled, the system automatically deducts payment to renew the instance before it expires. Ensure your account balance is sufficient. Otherwise, the auto-renewal will fail.

    • If the auto-renewal payment fails, the system sends you a notification. Pay attention to system notifications.

    • You can also manually renew a resource that is set for auto-renewal. You will not be charged twice within the same renewal period.

  • Expire without renewal

    • If you confirm that a resource is no longer needed, you can set it to "Expire without renewal".

    • The system will no longer send you expiration reminders for this resource. After the resource expires, it enters a recovery state and is then released.

    • You can also manually renew an instance that is set to expire without renewal. After renewal, the resource can be used normally during the new subscription period.

  1. Go to Elastic Compute Service - Subscription.

    Urgent renewal entry point

    By default, Urgent Renewal displays resources that will expire within 15 days and resources that are Expired.

    1. Open the Alibaba Cloud app, tap the Console tab at the bottom, and then tap Urgent Renewal in the pending events section.

    2. Tap Elastic Compute Service - Subscription.

      Note

      On the Manual Renewal tab, you can select the Expires in 15 days option to filter for the target resources to renew.

    Renewal management entry point

    By default, the Renewal Management page displays resources categorized as All Time and Expired.

    1. Open the Alibaba Cloud app, tap the Console tab at the bottom, and then tap Renewal Management.

    2. Tap Elastic Compute Service - Subscription.

      Note

      On the Manual Renewal tab, tap All times to select an expiration time range to filter for the target resources to renew.

  2. Tap the region where the destination ECS instance is located, for example, Hong Kong (China).

  3. Select the destination instance and tap Renew Now.

  4. In the Renewal Duration section, tap 1 Month.

    Note

    You can tap Other Durations to select a different renewal period.

  5. In the Renew Instance section, review and confirm the destination instance information. At the bottom, tap Pay Now and proceed with the payment.

    Note

    If a coupon is available for this renewal order, the system automatically applies it. You can tap View Details to check. Only one coupon can be used per order.

  6. After the payment is complete, tap View My Instances.

  7. Select the region where the instance is located to view information about the purchased ECS instance.

Purchase cloud products

The Alibaba Cloud app supports purchasing many cloud products, such as Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Simple Application Server, and databases. The app's simple interface lets you quickly purchase the products you need and adjust their specifications as required. This topic shows you how to purchase a subscription ECS instance as an example.

  1. Open the Alibaba Cloud app, tap the Discover tab at the bottom, and then tap Purchase Products at the top.

  2. Tap the image icon. On the Cloud Products page, tap Compute. You can select a product type based on your needs.

  3. Under Compute, find Elastic Compute Service. In the Elastic Compute Service section, tap Buy Now. You can scroll down the product type list to find the product you need.

  4. Select the instance configurations and tap View Details at the bottom.

    Note

    For the renewal management configuration, auto-renewal is disabled by default, which means manual renewal is used. You can enable auto-renewal in the instance configuration when you purchase the instance.

  5. Confirm the configuration and expense details, then tap Buy Now and proceed with the payment.

    Note

    If a coupon is available for the product, it is automatically applied in the Expense Details.

    • The coupon must match the product type, payment method (such as subscription), and minimum spending requirement.

    • Unpaid orders freeze the coupon. The coupon becomes available again after the order is canceled.

  6. After the payment is complete, tap View My Instances.

  7. Select the region where the instance is located to view information about the purchased ECS instance.

Top up your account

The Alibaba Cloud app provides an account top-up feature. This lets you monitor your balance in real time and top up your account from your mobile device. This ensures you have enough balance to maintain your cloud products and purchase new ones. For more information about topping up, see Online top-up.

Note

If your account has an overdue payment, see Top up an overdue account.

Limits: Topping up with Huabei or credit cards bound to Alipay is not supported.

  1. Open the Alibaba Cloud app, tap the My tab at the bottom, and then tap Costs.

  2. In the Available Credit section, tap Top-up.

  3. Enter or select a Top-up Amount (CNY), select a Payment Method, and then tap Confirm Top-up to proceed with the payment.

  4. After the payment is complete, tap Got It.

  5. Return to the Costs page to view the updated Available Credit.

FAQ

Which products can be renewed in the Alibaba Cloud app?

Currently, the Alibaba Cloud app supports renewals for the following products: Elastic Compute Service (ECS), ApsaraDB RDS, Domain Names, Cloud Web Hosting, Tair (Redis OSS-compatible), Simple Application Server, ApsaraDB for MongoDB, Server Load Balancer, Apsara File Storage NAS, Anti-DDoS Proxy IP, Web Application Firewall, Elastic IP Address, VPN, Express Connect, ApsaraDB for POLARDB, NAT Gateway, Anti-DDoS Pro and Anti-DDoS Premium, Cloud Enterprise Network, Cloud Parallel File Storage, ApsaraDB for Hbase, and Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS).

The list of supported products is continuously growing. To renew other products, let us know by navigating to My > Service Center > Suggestions.

I have an instance that needs renewal, but I can't see it on my mobile device. Why?

  1. Refer to the Which products can be renewed in the Alibaba Cloud app? FAQ to check if your resource is a product that can be renewed in the app.

  2. Your instance pending renewal might be set to Auto-renewal or Expire without renewal mode. Tap the tabs at the top of the page to switch views.

Why can't I see any available coupons when renewing or purchasing?

  1. In the Alibaba Cloud app, go to the My > Costs > Vouchers page to check for available coupons.

  2. Confirm the coupon's balance, validity period, applicable products, and applicable scenarios.

  3. If you have an unpaid order, the coupon may be frozen. You must cancel the unpaid order before you can use the coupon.
