A device must use a unique device certificate (ProductKey, DeviceName, and DeviceSecret) issued by the IoT Platform to establish a connection. For production, you can purchase activation codes to obtain device certificates. The platform provides free test devices for each product to support testing before mass production. Device certificates for test devices are for product development and testing purposes only and cannot be used for mass production.

Prerequisites

Complete the human-computer interaction configuration. For more information, see Configure human-computer interaction.

Procedure

  1. After configuring the human-computer interaction, click Next on the Human-Computer Interaction page to proceed to the Device Debugging page.

  2. In the Test Devices area, click Add Test Device.

  3. Configure the device name.

For a Bluetooth Mesh product, the DeviceName must match the MAC address of the device. If you manually enter the DeviceName, it must be in the MAC address format. You can leave this field empty to have the system automatically generate a device name.

  4. Click OK. The device certificate for the test device is displayed.

For a Bluetooth Mesh product, the activation credentials (ProductId, DeviceName, and DeviceSecret) must be flashed to the device. The credentials are shown in the red box in the following figure.

To obtain device certificates for mass-produced devices, see Download device certificates.
