You can deactivate Cloud Config if you no longer need to evaluate resource compliance.
After you deactivate Cloud Config, all resource configurations, rules, and compliance evaluation results stored in Cloud Config are automatically cleared and cannot be restored. Proceed with caution.
Prerequisites

All account groups must be deleted from your management account. For more information, see Delete an account group.

All members must be removed from account groups by using your management account. For more information, see Modify an account group.
Procedure
Log on to the Cloud Config console.

Deactivate Cloud Config.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Settings > Service Settings. Next to Monitoring Scope, click Deactivate Service. At the bottom of the page, click Deactivate Cloud Config, and then click Confirm Deactivation in the confirmation dialog box. After the service is deactivated, the stored resource configuration baseline data, created rules, and compliance results are automatically deleted and cannot be recovered.
