An activation code is a unique credential that a device uses to connect to the Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform. Each device requires one activation code, and these codes cannot be reused.
Overview
The IoT Platform provides two types of activation codes: device activation codes and video activation codes.
- Device activation code
These codes are for all devices except video devices. Device activation codes come in two types: for non-Bluetooth devices and for Bluetooth devices. After you purchase the codes, you must assign them to a project.
Device activation codes can also be redeemed using activation code vouchers. For more information, see Activation code vouchers.
- Video activation code
These codes are for video devices only. You must enable the Link Visual service before you can use them. Video activation codes come in three types: IPC (Consumer), IPC (Enterprise), and NVR. After you purchase the codes, you must assign them to a project.
