If you cannot register a desired domain name and have already arranged its purchase from the current owner, use the domain push with a price feature to complete the transaction.

Overview

Domain push with a price is a peer-to-peer transaction model between a buyer and a seller. The seller pushes a domain name to a specific buyer at a set price. The transaction is complete once the buyer accepts the push and pays the specified amount.

The Alibaba Cloud domain name trading platform uses Alipay to process all payments from buyers and payouts to sellers. After a buyer successfully pays by using Alipay, the funds are directly transferred to the seller's Alipay account. Alipay's policies govern all limits on payment amounts, transfers, and withdrawals. Because Alibaba Cloud only provides the service platform for this transaction, we cannot issue invoices for the funds involved in the domain name sale.

Domain push with a price vs. inter-account transfer

  • Domain push with a price:

This feature is designed for commercial transactions. It is used exclusively for trading domain names, and the transaction amount must be 0 CNY or greater.

  • Inter-account transfer:

This is a free administrative feature that moves various services, not just domain names, between different Alibaba Cloud accounts.

Transaction rules

  • Buyers

    • You can only pay for domain names by using Alipay. Credit card payments are not supported.

      Important

Ensure that your Alipay account has completed real-name verification. We recommend linking an Alipay account verified with the same identity as your Alibaba Cloud account. When you accept the domain name push, you can select from the available payment channels displayed in Alipay.

    • After you successfully purchase a domain name, you cannot request a refund or cancel the purchase.

  • Sellers

    • To initiate a domain push with a price, you must link an Alipay account that has passed real-name verification.

    • You can initiate a domain push with a price for multiple domain names at once. The process for a bulk push is the same as for a single domain name push.

    • A domain push with a price offer is valid for 3 days (72 hours) after it is initiated. If the buyer does not accept the push within this period, the offer expires.

    • The seller can cancel a pending offer before the buyer accepts it.

Transaction fees

  • Domain name purchase cost: The buyer must pay the price set by the seller when initiating the domain push.

  • Service fee: To improve and maintain the Alibaba Cloud domain name trading platform, a service fee applies to all "domain push with a price" transactions initiated after 10:00 on July 12, 2021. This fee is charged to the seller and is calculated as 1% of the total transaction amount, with a minimum fee of 0.01 CNY. If a promotion is active, the promotional rate applies.

    Note

The service fee is a percentage of the final sale price that Alibaba Cloud collects from the seller. It does not affect the buyer, who only needs to pay the full price of the domain name as listed in the order.

Transaction process

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Domains console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose I am a Buyer > Pushes Received to view incoming pushes.

  3. Click Accept to go to the order confirmation page.

  4. Select an information template that has passed real-name verification, select the checkbox to accept the related agreements, and then click Buy Now.

FAQ

Real-time settlement

Yes. After the buyer completes the payment, the system immediately settles the transaction and transfers the domain name.

Note

Invoices cannot be issued for this type of transaction.

Push initiation restrictions

  • The domain name is not in your current Alibaba Cloud account.

  • Domain names ending in .cn, .中国, .公司, or .网络 cannot be listed for sale within 7 days (7 × 24 hours) of registration, and other domain names cannot be listed for sale within 1 day of successful registration.

  • The domain name has expired.

  • The inter-account transfer feature for the domain name is restricted.

  • Domain names for micro-sites, .gov.cn domain names, .cn domain names for micro-posters, domain names that contain words reserved by the CNNIC registry, .xin domain names for Chengxintong, or domain names with suffixes such as .hk and .商标, for which the corresponding registry has special requirements, such as materials for ownership transfer and entity restrictions.

  • The domain name is undergoing a transfer of ownership or is being transferred to another registrar.

  • The domain name is illegal, under legal arbitration, or involved in a dispute, which prevents it from being traded.

  • Another transaction, such as a domain push with a price or a fixed-price domain name sale, is already active for the domain name.

  • Domain push with a price does not support transfers to buyers on the Alibaba Cloud International site. Both the seller and the buyer must use an Alibaba Cloud China site account.

Reasons for push invalidation

  • The domain name has been deleted or transferred to another registrar, including domain names in the process of being transferred.

  • The domain name was moved using an inter-account transfer.

  • A transfer of ownership occurred for the domain name.

  • The domain name was added to a blacklist or had restrictions placed on it, such as disabling inter-account transfers.

  • The offer period set by the user has expired.

  • The transfer password for the domain name was retrieved.

  • The transaction violates the policies or regulations of a governing authority.

  • Alibaba Cloud technical support manually removed the domain name from the platform.

Bulk push failures

  • To protect both parties, if any domain name in a bulk push request fails, the entire request fails. The seller must remove the invalid domain names and submit the bulk request again.

  • To protect the buyer, if any domain name in a bulk acceptance fails to be purchased, the entire transaction fails. The full payment is refunded to the buyer's Alipay account. To try again, the buyer must coordinate with the seller to have the push re-initiated.

Expiration of accepted pushes

  • After accepting a domain push with a price, the buyer must complete the payment within 2 hours. Otherwise, the transaction is closed.

  • After accepting a push but before making the payment, the buyer can also choose to manually cancel the order.

  • If an order is closed, the seller must initiate a new push for the transaction to proceed.
