If a domain name you want is already registered, Alibaba Cloud offers a domain name buyback service. This service includes price inquiry, negotiation, analysis, and acquisition to help you obtain your desired domain name.
The domain name buyback service is for purchasing registered domain names that have not yet entered their deletion period. This service does not cover domain name renewal, redemption, transfer-in, or backordering. The success of a domain name transaction depends on whether you and the seller can reach an agreement.
Billing
You can pay for the domain name buyback service using your Alibaba Cloud account balance. If your balance is insufficient, add funds to your account promptly. For more information, see How to top up your account. The following fees apply to the domain name buyback service.

Buyback process
Submit a domain name buyback request
In the Domain Names console, go to the page. Click Submit Buyback Request. Then, enter the domain name you want to buy, your contact information, and your budget.
After you submit the request and pay the consultation service fee, an Alibaba Cloud domain expert will call you within two business days to confirm your request.
Check the buyback status
On the page, check the Request Status.
If the domain name buyback fails after you pay the buyback fee due to the seller or other factors, Alibaba Cloud will refund the buyback fee to you.
Reasons for buyback failure
The domain name has a suffix that cannot be traded or managed on the Alibaba Cloud platform.
The domain name cannot be traded because of a legal freeze, arbitration, or restrictions from the domain name registry.
The domain name holder cannot be contacted within the specified time, or the holder explicitly refuses to sell.
