Windows/macOS/Web client
-
On the Cloud Computers page, find the card for your new cloud computer and click Configure Now.

-
Select a setup method and click Next:
-
Set Up New Desktop: Start from scratch by choosing the operating system, running mode, and pre-installed applications. Recommended for first-time users.
-
Saved Image: Quickly create a cloud computer based on an existing image. Suitable for experienced users.
-
-
Follow the steps based on your selected setup method:
Set Up New Desktop
Enter a Cloud Computer Name and select a Preferred Location, then click OK.
ImportantThe preferred location cannot be changed later. The system deploys your cloud computer to the nearest data center based on your selection.
-
Select the operating system to install and click Next. Available options include:
Windows Server 2022: Compatible with most Windows software. Suitable for office work, development, design, and video editing. Windows 10, Windows 11, and Microsoft Store are not supported. Applications distributed through the Store (such as Codex) cannot be installed. If you need Windows 10 or 11, consider using EDS Enterprise Edition.
Linux Ubuntu 22.04: An open-source distribution ideal for development, DevOps, and machine learning.
Kylin 23.03: A domestic operating system for government and enterprise scenarios requiring domestic software compatibility.
Select a running mode, then click Next.
NoteThe running mode sets the compute resources (vCPU and memory) for each session — think of it as a performance tier. You can switch modes each time you start the cloud computer. Each mode consumes a different number of Lingdou per hour:
Economy (4 vCPU / 8 GiB): Web browsing, basic office work. 4 Lingdou/hour.
Smooth (8 vCPU / 16 GiB): Multitasking, light design. 8 Lingdou/hour.
Performance (16 vCPU / 32 GiB): Development, design, video editing. 16 Lingdou/hour.
Esports (12 vCPU / 46 GiB + 11 GiB VRAM): AAA gaming. 60 Lingdou/hour.
For the full rate table, see Rates for cloud computers.
If you need to run GPU-intensive workloads — AAA games, 3D rendering, or large model inference — you must select Esports mode. The other modes have no dedicated GPU and may cause poor performance or errors.
-
(Windows only) Select the applications to pre-install on your cloud computer. Skip this step for other operating systems.
-
Click Complete Setup.

NoteThe running mode determines the compute resources (vCPU, memory) allocated each time you start the cloud computer. Think of it as choosing a performance tier. You can switch modes freely each time you start the desktop without repurchasing. Different modes consume Wuying Credits at different rates:
-
Economy Mode (4 vCPU / 8 GiB memory): Suitable for everyday tasks and web browsing. Consumes 4 credits per hour.
-
Smooth Mode (8 vCPU / 16 GiB memory): Suitable for multitasking and light design work. Consumes 8 credits per hour.
-
Performance Mode (16 vCPU / 32 GiB memory): Suitable for development, design, and video editing. Consumes 16 credits per hour.
-
Gaming Mode (12 vCPU / 46 GiB memory / 11 GiB GPU memory): Suitable for AAA games. Consumes 60 credits per hour.
For the full credit consumption details, see Rates for cloud computers.
If you want to run AAA games, 3D rendering software, or large model inference tasks that require dedicated GPU performance, you must use Gaming Mode. Other modes do not include a dedicated GPU and may cause applications to run slowly or behave unexpectedly in these scenarios.
