Organization and Role Model
Understand the organizational structure and four user roles of RaaS Translation Buddy.
RaaS Translation Buddy uses a three-level organizational structure of Organization > Workspace > Member and a four-tier role system of Owner > Organization Admin > Workspace Admin > Member to support multi-team collaboration and fine-grained resource management.
Organizational Structure
Organization — The top-level management unit, representing a company or team. If no organization has been initialized, the system creates an organization and a default workspace when the Alibaba Cloud account signs in for the first time. An authorized RAM user or RAM role can also trigger this initialization on first access. The organization still belongs to the parent Alibaba Cloud account
Workspace — A collaborative unit within the organization, typically corresponding to a project team or business department. A member can only belong to one workspace
Member — Can join the organization through SSO by using the "Member Login URL" on the Settings page. The system also creates a corresponding member account when a RAM user or RAM role accesses RaaS Translation Buddy for the first time. A member must be added to a workspace and assigned a seat before translating

For ordinary RaaS Translation Buddy member accounts, only the Owner has the "Subscription" page. For a RAM user or RAM role, access to subscription data and purchases is controlled separately by Expenses and Costs (BSS) permissions, not by the RaaS Translation Buddy role. For details, see Access the RaaS Translation Buddy Console as a RAM User.
Member Joining and Usage Flow
The following flow applies to members who join through the Member Login URL. For the first-access flow of a RAM user or RAM role, see Access the RaaS Translation Buddy Console as a RAM User.
Step 1: Join the Organization
The Owner or Organization Admin shares the "Member Login URL" from the Settings page with target members. Members log in via SSO through that URL and automatically join the organization.
Step 2: Join a Workspace
New members are not in any workspace by default. The Owner or Organization Admin must add them to a workspace via Workspace Management.
Step 3: Get a Seat Assigned
An Organization Admin assigns a seat to the member. Once a seat is assigned, the member gets the corresponding Credits allowance.
Step 4: Start Translating
Once a member is both in a workspace and has a seat assigned, they can submit translation tasks.
Key Rules
Rule | Description |
Member-to-Workspace 1:1 | A member can only belong to one workspace; transfer requires removal then re-addition |
Task Ownership | Translation tasks are only visible to and operable by the creator |
Seat Required | Members without a seat cannot translate |
