This topic describes the billing methods, pricing details, and overdue payment policy for the Alibaba Cloud Visual Intelligence API.

Billable items

You are charged for calling the Visual Intelligence API or using the software development kit (SDK). For more information, see Billable items.

Billing methods

The Visual Intelligence API supports three billing methods: pay-as-you-go, subscription resource plans (single-category and general-purpose), and subscription QPS.

  • Pay-as-you-go (postpaid): You are charged based on your actual usage of each billable item. This method is ideal for scenarios with fluctuating business usage.

  • Subscription resource plans (prepaid): You can purchase discounted resource plans for specific billable items. During billing, usage is deducted from your resource plan first. This method is ideal for scenarios with stable business usage.

    • Single-category subscription resource plans: These plans apply to a single service category.

    • General-purpose subscription resource plans: These plans apply to multiple service categories.

  • Subscription QPS (prepaid): You can purchase discounted QPS resources for a specific QPS usage level. Calls made within the validity period of your subscription QPS are free of charge. This method is ideal for scenarios with stable business usage.

    Note
    • Usage that exceeds the amount covered by your resource plan is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. You should purchase a resource plan that fits your service needs and business volume.

    • If you use multiple billing methods, charges are deducted in the following order: Subscription QPS > Single-category subscription resource plan > General-purpose subscription resource plan > Pay-as-you-go.

Billing for API calls

Note the following billing rules when you call billable APIs:

  • You are charged for successful calls that return a status code of 200.

  • You are charged for calls that fail with the error code InvalidImage.NotFoundFace (no face is detected in the image). You are not charged for calls that return any other error codes.

Go to Expenses and Costs to view your bills and usage details for the Visual Intelligence API and track your spending.

Overdue payments and renewals

An overdue payment occurs if your account balance is insufficient to cover your bill. To prevent service disruptions from an expired plan or an overdue payment, monitor your account balance and renew your services promptly.
