After a resource plan expires or is exhausted, you are charged for subsequent resource usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information about the billing of each item, see VOD Pricing.
ApsaraVideo VOD resource plans can only be used to offset the resource fees of ApsaraVideo VOD. All resource plans can be stacked. Stacked plans are consumed to offset fees in a specific order. For more information, see Resource Plan Deduction Rules.

The regions mentioned in this topic correspond to the ApsaraVideo VOD service regions as follows:
- The Chinese mainland: China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), and China (Shenzhen)
- Asia-Pacific region: Singapore, Japan (Tokyo), and Indonesia (Jakarta)
- Europe: Germany (Frankfurt)
- North America: US (Silicon Valley)

Introduction to resource plans

ApsaraVideo VOD provides the following resource plans:

Resource plan	Description
ApsaraVideo VOD data transfer plan	Used to offset traffic usage for the acceleration service(Chinese Mainland General-purpose Data Transfer Plans can be used to offset acceleration traffic and storage outbound traffic. Data transfer plans for other acceleration regions can only be used to offset acceleration traffic and cannot be used to offset storage outbound traffic.). Purchase a plan based on your acceleration region. Note You can use this resource plan only if you Configure An Accelerated Domain Name and the billing method for the acceleration service is Pay-by-traffic. For more information about accelerated domain name configuration, see Add an accelerated domain name. When the billing method for the acceleration service is By Peak Bandwidth or By 95th Percentile Bandwidth Of A Calendar Month, the resource plan will be frozen. You can switch the billing method as needed. For more information, see Switch between billing methods. Downloading or playing content directly from a video-on-demand storage address over the Internet generates billing for storage outbound traffic. The generated storage outbound traffic can be offset only using general-purpose data transfer plans for the Chinese mainland. Data transfer plans for other acceleration regions cannot be used to offset storage outbound traffic.
ApsaraVideo VOD storage plan	Used to offset the media asset storage usage of the ApsaraVideo VOD Standard storage class. Purchase and use these plans by region. Storage plans for other storage classes are not yet available.
ApsaraVideo VOD transcoding plan	General-purpose transcoding plan Can be used to offset the usage of audio and video transcoding (standard transcoding, Narrowband HD 1.0, Narrowband HD 2.0, container format conversion, and audio transcoding) or online editing (outputs are videos or audio files that use the H.264 protocol). ApsaraVideo VOD provides transcoding plans for the Chinese mainland, Standard Transcoding, H.264, LD output specification, and The Usage Of Online Editing Or Transcoding To Other Output Specifications Is Deducted At A Specific Ratio. This resource plan is available in all regions, and The Deduction Ratio Varies By Service Region. Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding plan Can be used only to offset the usage of Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding. ApsaraVideo VOD provides a transcoding plan for outputs with the `the Chinese mainland Narrowband HD^TM 1.0 H.264 LD` specification, and Narrowband HD 1.0 Transcoding Usage For Other Output Specifications Is Deducted At A Certain Ratio. This resource plan can be used in all regions, and The Deduction Ratio Varies By Service Region.

ApsaraVideo VOD data transfer plan

ApsaraVideo VOD data transfer plans offset acceleration traffic but not storage outbound traffic. A data transfer plan takes effect only if an accelerated domain name is configured and the billing method for the acceleration service is Pay-by-traffic. You can purchase multiple data transfer plans, which are consumed in purchase order. The system aggregates your hourly downstream traffic. Usage within the plan quota is deducted from the plan, and excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information, see Acceleration Service Billing.

ApsaraVideo VOD storage plan

You can purchase multiple ApsaraVideo VOD storage plans with cumulative quotas. The system calculates your storage usage every hour. Usage within the quota is deducted from the plan, and excess usage is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information, see Media Asset Storage Billing.

Note

ApsaraVideo VOD storage plans are for the Standard storage class. They can only be used to offset the storage usage of files in the Standard storage class. ApsaraVideo VOD does not provide storage plans for other storage classes.
ApsaraVideo VOD storage is available in locally redundant storage (LRS) and zone-redundant storage (ZRS) types. LRS stores data in a single zone. If the zone fails, the data becomes inaccessible. ZRS stores data across multiple zones. If one zone fails, the data remains accessible. You can choose the storage plan type that best suits your business needs.

ApsaraVideo VOD transcoding plan

ApsaraVideo VOD transcoding plans offset transcoding fees. You can purchase multiple transcoding plans, which are consumed in purchase order. The system calculates your hourly transcoding duration. Usage within the plan quota and resolution range is deducted from the plan, and excess usage is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. For more information, see Media asset transcoding billing.

Note

Transcoding duration: The transcoding duration is the sum of the durations of all transcoding tasks. If you transcode the same video multiple times, each transcoding task is billed. For example, you transcode a 1-hour video twice using a transcoding template group that contains two standard transcoding templates: H.264 LD (640 × 480) and H.264 SD (1280 × 720). The transcoding duration for the H.264 LD (640 × 480) specification is 2 hours, and the transcoding duration for the H.264 SD (1280 × 720) specification is 2 hours. When deducting from a transcoding plan, the duration for the SD specification is converted based on a 1:1.5 ratio, which results in 3 hours. Therefore, although the total transcoding duration is 4 hours, the total duration deducted from the transcoding plan is 5 hours.

Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding plan

Narrowband HD 1.0 Transcoding Length Packages are used exclusively to offset Narrowband HD 1.0 Transcoding usage.
The Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding length package can be used in all regions, but deductions are made at different ratios for each region. For more information about the service regions supported by ApsaraVideo VOD, see Service Regions.
The pricing for the Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding length package is based on Narrowband HD 1.0 H.264 LD transcoding in the Chinese mainland. For the deduction ratios for other specifications and service regions, see Narrowband HD 1.0 transcoding length package deduction ratios.
The Narrowband HD transcoding plans for ApsaraVideo VOD and ApsaraVideo Media Processing are separate products. Their resource plans are independent and cannot be used to offset each other's usage.
