Workload
This topic describes the workload feature and how to use it.
What is workload
The workload feature lets you filter by user group to view the work schedules of members. The system automatically calculates work saturation for the next 30 days, tracks completed work, and displays future workload. This provides administrators with a clear overview of each member's workload and efficiency, enabling them to make prompt adjustments.
Workload data is classified as enterprise performance management data. It can be viewed only by Enterprise Owners, super administrators, administrators, and administrators in Enterprise Management in the Permission Settings of Apsara Devops Performance Insights.
Create a user group
Before you can use the workload feature, you must create a user group. For more information, see User group management.
View member work schedules
You can filter the work schedules of user group members by statistics dimension, work item status, and work item type. You can switch between these filters in the upper-right corner of the page:
Filter by project: You can select one or more projects to view the work items of team members.
Work item status: You can filter by status. The options are All, To Do, In Progress, Completed, and Done.
Work item type: You can filter by type. The options are All, Requirement, Task, and Bug.
Statistics dimension: You can switch between viewing by item and viewing by estimated work hours. The default view is by item.
Filter by logged hour anomalies: When the statistics dimension is set to logged work hours, you can filter for members with abnormal logged hours. An abnormality is recorded when daily logged hours are greater or less than 8 hours, or weekly logged hours are greater or less than 40 hours. By default, the system displays anomalies from the last 30 days.
View member work item schedules
You can switch the filter to view by item to see member work schedules based on work item statistics.
Scope: The statistics include requirements, tasks, and bugs that have a scheduled start and end time for members of the current user group.
Quickly view daily work and hours: You can click the number on a specific day to see the number of work items, logged hours, and estimated hours for that day. For example, if Zhang Yu has 4 items on June 26, you can click the number 4 to view the details of those items.
View a member's specific work: You can click the arrow next to a member's name to see their detailed schedule. You can then click an item to view its basic information.
The work item detail card displays the following basic information:
Owner
Priority (e.g., Urgent)
Status (e.g., In Progress)
Estimated Time (shown in red when overdue)
Estimated Hours
Project
View a member's work distribution for the next 30 days: The data is based on the member's work items that have a scheduled start and end time within the next 30 days. You can also view the distribution breakdown.
Click the workload color block of a member to open a popup that displays a ring chart showing the member's work distribution for the next 30 days, categorized by Requirement, Task, and Bug, along with the number of Unscheduled Items.
You can quickly view a member's unscheduled work.
Click the Unscheduled Items number in a member's row to open a popup listing unscheduled work items. You can filter by type using the All, Requirement, Bug, and Task tabs, or use the search box to find specific items.
Quick sort and find: You can sort members by the number of work items in descending order. You can also use the find feature to select and view specific members.
View member work hour schedules
You can switch the filter to view by estimated work hours to see member work saturation based on statistics for estimated hours.
Scope: The statistics include requirements, tasks, and bugs that have a scheduled start and end time for members of the current user group.
Daily estimated hours: For each work item, the estimated hours are averaged across the number of days from the start date to the end date. The daily totals for each member are then summed.
Overload indicator: If a member's daily workload exceeds 8 hours, the number for that day is displayed in red.
View a member's work saturation for the next 30 days: The data is based on the member's work items that have a scheduled start time, end time, and estimated hours within the next 30 days. Saturation is calculated based on an 8-hour workday. Overloaded work is highlighted in red.
On the Workload page, the member list displays daily workload distribution in a timeline format. Click a member's name to view a detail bubble showing the saturation percentage, workload hours, and the number of Unscheduled Items.
Add a work item
When a member's schedule is expanded, you can add work items for the current day or a future date. Only unscheduled work items can be added.
Hover over a cell for the current day or a future date in the calendar to display the + (Add) button, and click it.
In the Add Work Item dialog box, enter the work item name or ID to search, and select the target item.
After selecting the item, specify the Estimated Time and Estimated Hours, then click OK to complete the addition.
View member profiles
You can click a member's name to view their recent work summary. This page displays the member's recent progress, code commits, potential threats, and future work plans.
The member's Profile panel displays the following information:
Work Item Distribution: A pie chart showing the ratio of requirements to bugs
Anomaly Statistics: Number of overdue and blocked work items
Requirement Statistics: Number of delivered requirements and average delivery cycle
Bug Statistics: Number of bugs being fixed and bugs reopened
