Procedure
Log in to DMS 5.0.
In the top navigation bar, choose .
NoteIf you use the DMS console in simple mode, move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner of the console and choose . -
On the data sources tab, find and expand the target data source and database, double-click the target table name, and then click Execute.
NoteYou can also manually write a SQL statement to query the table and then click Execute.
-
In the execution result area, click Generate Report with One Click.
-
In the Create Logical View dialog box, enter a View Name and click OK.
-
Verify that your Alibaba Cloud account has the required permissions to use Quick BI.
-
If the system prompts you to select a workspace, this means that the current user is not in a Quick BI organization, and no Quick BI organization exists under the current DMS tenant.
-
Select a workspace. The system uses this workspace to create a DMS data source for the report.
NoteIf this is your first time accessing this workspace, select one where you have permissions to create data sources.
-
After you select a workspace, the page automatically redirects to the Quick BI workspace and the system creates a DMS data source named "DMS logical data warehouse" for you.
NoteIf a message indicates you lack permissions to create a Quick BI data source, contact the organization or workspace administrator to grant them.
-
The system creates a dataset based on the logical view from the logical data warehouse. The dataset has the same name as the logical view. After the dataset is created, the page automatically redirects to the dataset editing page.
-
-
If the system prompts you to select an existing organization or start a 30-day free trial, this means that the current user is not in a Quick BI organization, but a Quick BI organization exists under the current DMS tenant.
-
If you choose to use an existing organization, click Copy Link and send the link to the organization's creator. Ask the creator to add you to the organization. For more information, see Add an Alibaba Cloud account to an organization and Add a RAM user to an organization.
-
If you choose to start a 30-day free trial, click the free trial link. In the Free Trial dialog box, click Start 30-day Free Trial of Professional Edition.
NoteIf you apply for the trial as a RAM user, the Quick BI organization is created under the parent Alibaba Cloud account. After a RAM user starts the trial, other RAM users under the same tenant cannot apply for another trial.
-
-
If the system only prompts you to start a 30-day free trial of the Professional Edition, this means that the current user is not in a Quick BI organization, and no Quick BI organization exists under the current DMS tenant.
A warning message informs you that you are a RAM user. It cautions that if you proceed with the trial, a Quick BI organization will be created under the parent Alibaba Cloud account, which prevents the parent Alibaba Cloud account and its other RAM users from starting another trial. The message also states that you cannot start another trial if you have already used one within the past year. In this case, you can click Purchase Now to purchase a subscription directly.
-
Click Start 30-day Free Trial of Professional Edition.
