Create Promotional SMS Task

Procedure

1. Choose Workspace> User Marketing > Reach Marketing > SMS.

2. Click Create Message Delivery Task in the upper-right corner. The Create Message Delivery Task page appears, as shown in the following figure.

3. Configure the following parameters:

• Task Name: Enter a task name. You can use the task name to distinguish the role of the current task. The task name cannot be duplicate in a single space.

  Note

  The actual content sent is not affected by the task name.

• SMS Platform: Select an SMS platform from the drop-down list.

• SMS Type: Select promotional SMS.

• Signature Selection: Select an existing signature, Create Signature, or Add Signature from the drop-down list. The signature will be sent to the user along with the text message.

  When you add an approved signature, you do not need to add []. The signature will be sent with the [] symbol to avoid duplication.

  Note

  You can add a signature only after the signature is approved by the corresponding SMS platform. Otherwise, the SMS message fails to be sent. Check whether the signature is approved in the Alibaba Cloud SMS Console or on a third-party SMS platform. For more information about how to create a signature, see SMS Signature Management.

• Select a template:

  • Select Existing Template: Select an existing template from the drop-down list. For more information, see Create Text SMS Template.

  • Create Template: If you want to create a new template, enter the template name below and edit the content of the text message as the template content.

  Note

  Please note that the template can only be sent after the corresponding SMS platform is approved.

• Short Link:

  • To use a short chain, select an existing short chain from the drop-down list or Create Short Chain, and then click Copy Short Chain. You can use the Ctrl + V keys to copy the short chain to the content of the message. Format: http://xxx.cn/xxxxxx.

  • If you want to use a short chain with a short parameter and select With Short, the copied short chain will contain the short parameter. Specify this parameter in the following format: http://xxx.cn/xxxxxx?ph=${sp_xxxx}.

  Note

  • When selecting a short chain, please pay attention to the validity period of the short chain. When the user clicks on the short chain, the short chain must be within the validity period to open the URL normally.

  • ${sp_xxxx} in a short chain with a short parameter is a short parameter. When a short message is sent, a corresponding short parameter is generated based on each mobile phone number to track user short chain click data.

    In Alibaba Cloud short chain, the user short chain click data tracked by using short parameters is returned to Alibaba Cloud SMS Platform. Contact the customer service personnel of this service to obtain the data. In general short chain, the user short chain click data tracked by using short parameters is returned to Quick Audience for analysis.

• Message Content: The message content depends on the message template. The text preview is displayed on the right side of the page. Pay attention to the preview effect.

  Note

  • If you continue to change the content after you select a template, it is equivalent to creating a new template. You must also approve the template before you can send it.

  • Information such as SMS review rules and billing rules is displayed below the SMS content text box. We recommend that you arrange the SMS content based on these information.

  • For third-party promotional SMS, you can insert any number of variables;

  To insert a variable, click the icon at the location where you want to insert the variable. In the dialog box shown in the following figure, enter the variable name and click Insert. The value of "Please participate in the city activity" changes to "Please participate in the ${city} city activity".

  

• Receive Number: Click Select Audience, select the group to which you want to send messages, and select an encryption method for the mobile phone number. The system sends a text message to the mobile phone number associated with the group.

• Select tag: This configuration items is displayed only when the text message contains short parameters or variables.

  • If it contains a short parameter, such as "sp_7720" in the preceding figure, the value of the short parameter depends on the mobile phone number. You do not need to set it.

  • If it contains a variable, such as "city" in the preceding figure, you must click Select tag to select a tag field from the source table of the selected population as the value of the variable.

    and set the processing method when the user's tag value is empty:

    • Do Not Send: If the tag value of a user is empty, no text message is sent to the user.

    • Replace: replaces a variable with a specified text.

• Associate Sub-activity: Select a primary activity and select a sub-activity under the primary activity. Separate sub-activities are displayed under-at the end of the primary activity list. You can associate a marketing task with multiple sub-activities. For more information about marketing activities, see Marketing Campaign Documentation.

• Limit Number of People: If you select 1000 people but want to market to only 100 people, turn on the Limit Number of People switch and enter the number 100. Limit the number of people can not be greater than the number of people selected.

• Scheduled Sending: If you turn on this switch, you can specify the time at which you want to send data. If scheduled delivery is enabled, you must select an approved SMS template as the content to be sent to ensure that the process is unimpeded and cannot change it.

  

• Click Submit sending task to finish creating.
