The billing for Elastic GPU Service is the same as for Elastic Computing Service (ECS). This topic describes the billable items, billing methods, and the renewal and refund policies for Elastic GPU Service.
Billable items and their billing methods
A GPU-accelerated instance includes compute resources such as vCPUs, memory, and GPUs, along with images and block storage. The following table describes the billable GPU resources.
Billable item | Description | Billing method | Switch between billing methods | Billing rules |
Compute resources (vCPUs, memory, and GPUs) | The fees for compute resources (vCPUs, memory, and GPUs) are determined by the instance type. Prices for the same instance type may vary by region. For more information, see Product Pricing. | Supports subscription, pay-as-you-go (can be used with reserved instances or savings plans), and spot instances.
Images | Fees depend on the image type and usage. For example, the billing for public images, custom images, shared images, and marketplace images may differ. | Supports subscription and pay-as-you-go (can be used with reserved instances). Note Images can be used only with ECS instances. When you purchase reserved instances for Windows, the cost includes the public image fee, which can offset the charges for public images on your bill. | Not supported
Block storage | Block storage includes cloud disks and local disks.
| Supports subscription, pay-as-you-go (can be used with savings plans), and Storage Capacity Units. | ||
Public bandwidth | You can access the internet using a static public IP address, an Elastic IP Address (EIP), or a NAT Gateway.
|
| Switch the bandwidth billing method for a static public IP address | |
Snapshots |
| Supports pay-as-you-go, Storage Capacity Units, and Standard LRS storage plans. | Not supported |
Renewal policy
The renewal feature applies only to subscription instances. Pay-as-you-go instances do not require renewal. You only need to ensure that your account has a sufficient balance. For more information, see Renew a subscription instance.
You can enable the economical mode for pay-as-you-go instances. The instance type fee for a GPU-accelerated instance includes the cost of GPU resources. Therefore, when the economical mode is triggered, billing for GPU resources also stops. For more information, see Economical mode.
The following table describes the renewal features for subscription instances.
Feature | Description | Related operations |
Manual renewal | You can manually renew an instance in the ECS console at any time before it is automatically released to extend its expiration date.
Auto-renewal |
| |
Renewal with downgrade | If the configuration of your current ECS instance is higher than required, you can downgrade the instance configuration when you renew the instance. This can be done within 15 days before the instance expires and until it is released.
Renewal with specification change | After an instance expires, you can upgrade or downgrade its instance type when you renew it before it is automatically released.
Unified Expiration Date | If you have multiple subscription instances with different expiration dates, you can set a unified expiration date for them. This simplifies management and renewal. |
View bills
You can view the bills for your ECS resources in Expenses and Costs for a detailed breakdown of your spending. For more information, see Query bills.
Expiration and overdue payments
The status of resources and the policies for handling overdue payments vary depending on the billing method of the ECS resources. For more information, see Overdue payments.
Refund policy
The refund eligibility for ECS resources varies based on their billing methods. For more information, see Refund policy.
