Before you activate ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS), you must complete identity verification. After your identity is verified, go to the MPS console to grant the required permissions. Follow these steps to activate the MPS service.
Prerequisites
An Alibaba Cloud account is created and real-name verification is complete. To create an Alibaba Cloud account, visit the Alibaba Cloud official website. For more information, see Create an Alibaba Cloud account. For information about real-name verification, see Individual identity verification or Enterprise real-name verification.
Activation flow
Log on to the ApsaraVideo Media Processing product homepage using your Alibaba Cloud account.
Click Activate Now to go to the activation page.
Select the ApsaraVideo Media Processing Terms of Service checkbox, and then click Activate Now.
On the page that indicates the service is activated, click Authorize Cloud Resource Access to go to the authorization page. Then, click Agree to Authorization.
ImportantAuthorizing cloud resource access grants a system-created role for MPS the permissions to access your cloud resources. If you accidentally delete the AliyunMTSDefaultRole role after you grant the authorization, you can log on to your Alibaba Cloud account and go to the authorization page to grant the authorization again.

NoteMedia resources that are processed by MPS are stored in OSS buckets. You must activate OSS to use the service. OSS storage incurs fees. For more information, see OSS billing.
