Quick start
This topic describes how to purchase numbers and quickly start using the Phone Number Protection service.
Due to carrier policy restrictions, the Phone Number Protection service currently has no available number resources, and the service is in a suspended state. It cannot fulfill new business needs at this time (for example, scenarios where car dealers contact car owners while hiding their phone numbers). Before you activate the service or apply for a qualification, we recommend that you check the current availability of number resources to avoid unnecessary operations.
Preparations
Create an account and complete identity verification.
If you do not have an Alibaba Cloud account, create an account and complete corporate identity verification.
If you already have an Alibaba Cloud account with corporate identity verification, proceed to the next step.
Activate the Phone Number Protection service.
Log in to the Phone Number Protection console to activate the service.
Obtain an AccessKey pair.
An Alibaba Cloud AccessKey pair is a security token used to access cloud resources when you call API operations. You can use the AccessKey pair of an Alibaba Cloud account or a Resource Access Management (RAM) user. Before you call an API operation, you must create an AccessKey pair. For more information, see Create an AccessKey.
Workflow
Step 1: Apply for qualification
In the navigation pane on the left of the Phone Number Protection console, choose Qualification Management.
Click Add Qualification and fill in the information as prompted.

Step 2: Register a scenario
In the navigation pane on the left of the Phone Number Protection console, choose Scenario Management.
Click Add Scenario and fill in the information as prompted.

Step 3: Create a number pool
In the navigation pane on the left of the Phone Number Protection console, choose Numbers & Number Pools > Number Pool Management.
Click Add Number Pool. Fill in the information as prompted.

Step 4: Number purchase request
In the navigation pane on the left of the Phone Number Protection console, choose Numbers & Number Pools > Purchase Numbers.
Click Request Number and fill in the information as prompted.

After you purchase numbers, go to the Number List page to check which numbers require verification. If a number requires verification, you can use it only after the verification is complete. Numbers that do not require verification can be used immediately after purchase.
Step 5: Bind numbers
In the navigation pane on the left of the Phone Number Protection console, choose Numbers & Number Pools > Number Management.
