Resource Directory lets you organize your Alibaba Cloud accounts into a hierarchical structure and group them by business relationship for centralized management.
Prerequisites
To enable Resource Directory, your Alibaba Cloud account must meet the following requirements:

Enterprise identity-verified account: You must use an account that has completed enterprise identity verification Alibaba Cloud account to enable Resource Directory. Personal identity-verified accounts are not supported.

Security information: The account must have a security mobile number or a security email address.

Not a Resource Directory member: The account must not be a member of another Resource Directory.
Methods
Go to the Resource Center to view the resources in your current account, and then choose a suitable method.

Use the current account to enable Resource Directory
Use this method if the current account has no resources and runs no business workloads.

Create a new management account to enable Resource Directory
Use this method if the current account contains resources or runs business workloads.
This method creates a new Alibaba Cloud account to serve as the management account for your Resource Directory. The new account inherits the enterprise identity verification information from your current account, and your current account automatically becomes a member.
WarningAfter your current account becomes a member, only the new management account can remove it from the Resource Directory.
Use the current account to enable Resource Directory

Log on to the Resource Management console.

In the navigation pane on the left, choose .

Click Enable Resource Directory.
After enabling Resource Directory, the system creates a Root folder and sets your current account as the management account.
The system also automatically creates a service-linked role named
AliyunServiceRoleForResourceDirectoryin the management account. This role allows trusted services to access your Resource Directory. For more information about service-linked roles, see RAM roles in Resource Directory.
Create a new management account

Log on to the Resource Management console.

In the navigation pane on the left, choose .

In the Best Practices section on the right, click create a management account.

In the dialog box that appears, enter a custom Account Name.

Enter the Mobile Phone Number for the management account, click Get verification code, and enter the received code.

Click Enable.
In the dialog box that appears, enter the Management Account Name (with the suffix
@rdadmin.aliyunid.com), Security Mobile Number, and Verification Code.After enabling Resource Directory, the system creates a Root folder, sets the newly created account as the management account, and makes your current account a member.
The system also automatically creates a service-linked role named
AliyunServiceRoleForResourceDirectoryin the management account. This role allows trusted services to access your Resource Directory. For more information about service-linked roles, see RAM roles in Resource Directory.ImportantFor the new management account, use the mobile number specified in step 5 to set a login password on the password reset page. You can then use the new management account to log on to the Resource Management console and manage your Resource Directory.
