In addition to the Alibaba Cloud management console, you can configure your Smart Access Gateway device by logging on to its Web management console.
Background information
Due to browser compatibility issues, use Chrome or Firefox to log on to the SCG5000 Web management console. For more information about browser compatibility, see SAG Web console compatibility.
Step 1: Configure the local client
Before you configure the SCG5000 device by using its Web management console, you must enable DHCP on your local client.

Step 2: Set the initial password
- The Smart Access Gateway device is started and running properly.
- DHCP is enabled on your local client. For more information, see Step 1: Configure the local client.
- Connect your local PC to a LAN port on the Smart Access Gateway device using an Ethernet cable.
- On your PC, open a browser and enter
192.168.88.1in the address bar.Note- If the LAN port is configured with a static IP address, use that IP address to log on.
- If neither the LAN port nor the console is configured, you can log on to the device's Web management console by using the default address. The default logon address is
192.168.88.1.
- When you first log on to the Web management console, you are prompted to set a password. Enter a password.
Keep the password in a safe place. If you forget the password, press the RESET pinhole briefly to clear the password.
- Log on to the web configuration page.
Step 3: Configure the device
- Configure the WAN port.
- In the top navigation bar of the web management page, click Settings.
- Click the WAN Port Management tab to configure the WAN port.
By default, the connection type for the WAN port on an SCG5000 device is Dynamic IP. The WAN port automatically obtains its IP address from the connected peer device.Note You can change the connection type based on your requirements. For more information about the WAN port parameters, see Configure a WAN port.
- Configure the LAN port.
- In the top navigation bar of the web management page, click Settings.
- Click the LAN Port Management tab to configure the LAN port.
- Wired configuration
By default, the connection type for the LAN port on an SCG5000 device is Dynamic IP. Devices connected to the LAN port automatically obtain IP addresses by using DHCP. You can configure the LAN port based on your requirements. For more information about the LAN port configuration parameters, see Configure a LAN port.
When you configure a LAN port from the Web management console, if the connection type is Dynamic IP, you can customize the private network segment.
- Not selected: Lets you customize the interface IP address and the DHCP address pool.
- Custom Network Segment: Lets you enter a custom address segment. The system automatically allocates an interface IP address and a DHCP address pool. You can also manually adjust the system-allocated addresses.
- Optional address segment: If you have configured an on-premises route on the Smart Access Gateway management console, the system automatically retrieves IP address segments.
- LAN wireless configuration
The LAN wireless feature is disabled by default. If you need to enable the wireless feature, see Configure wireless connections.
- Wired configuration
- Manage routes.
- In the top navigation bar of the web management page, click Settings.
- Click the Route Management tab to configure routes.
