Quick start
This document introduces Insight's modules and explains how to create reports, helping you get started quickly.
Insight sources data from development activities and data assets generated in other Alibaba Cloud DevOps applications, such as Projex and Codeup. Before using metric reports, ensure your organization has generated data in these applications.

Insight homepage
The Insight navigation bar includes the core features: metric reports, metric library, workload, user group management, and permission management.
The metric reports page opens by default. At the top of the main content area, you can filter reports using three tabs: All reports, created by me, and shared with me. Click the New report button in the upper-right corner to create a report. Reports are listed in a table with columns for Report name, Update time, Creator, and Actions. The Common reports section in the left navigation pane provides preset reports, such as Man-hour efficiency metrics, Performance analysis metrics, Code metrics (Enterprise), Team metrics (Enterprise), and Cross-project metrics (Enterprise).
Report management
Manage metric reports, including creating, deleting, modifying, sharing, transferring, viewing, and exporting data. For details, see Metric report management.
Create a report
Organization members can create reports with different data scopes:
-
Insight super administrators, administrators, and organization administrators can select all relevant data within the organization when creating a report, such as all projects and all repositories.
-
Organization members can only select data for which they have permission when creating a report, such as projects and repositories they manage or participate in.
View reports
On the report list page, you can view organization-level shared reports, reports you have created, and reports shared with you:

Metric library
Insight provides scenario-based metric cards that you can select from based on your requirements to quickly generate a report. For details, see Metric library.
The metric library page organizes a total of 61 metric cards by dimension: Team (6), Man-hour (5), Project (9), iteration (5), Requirement (12), defect (14), and Code (10). The cards are displayed in a grid and feature various chart types (such as pie, line, bar, and donut charts). You can browse and filter them by category.
Workload
The workload feature shows member work schedules, workloads, and progress based on user groups. This helps managers track each member's workload and efficiency, and allows team leads to identify and address issues promptly. For details, see Workload.
The workload page displays the task time distribution for each member in a Gantt chart. It supports switching between Day/Week views and a View by item mode, and also shows the number of unscheduled work items for each member.
User group management
Add any member of your organization to a user group to easily view team metric reports or workloads. You can also share user groups with others to collaborate on data. For details, see User group management.
On the user group management page, you can filter user groups using the All user groups, created by me, and shared with me tabs. To create a user group, click the New user group button in the upper-right corner. The list displays columns for User group name, Number of members, Update time, and Creator. The Actions column provides options to Edit, Delete, and Share.
Permission management
Manage the organization members who use Insight and their permission scopes. For details, see Permission settings.
On the Permission settings page, you can control access using the Allow only administrators to access switch. The page has two tabs, Insight administrators and Enterprise administrators, which display the member's name, role, and date added. You can add new members by clicking the Add member button or remove existing members using the Remove action.
