This topic describes the structure and features of the scene editor to help you quickly build a 3D city.

General concepts of the scene editor

  • 3D cities and scenes: A 3D city can contain multiple scenes, but a scene can belong to only one 3D city. This creates a one-to-many relationship between a 3D city and its scenes.

  • Scenes and layers: A layer can be assigned to multiple scenes, and a scene can contain multiple layers. This creates a many-to-many relationship between scenes and layers.

  • Scenes and shots: A scene can contain multiple shots, which are timeline animations. All shots within the same scene share the same layer elements. For example, you might have two different scenes: one for the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center and another for the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower. These scenes would contain the basemap layer elements for Hangzhou and Shanghai, respectively. Specific camera movements, such as a zoom-in or a surround shot of the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center, are then created as different shots within that scene.

Toolbar

The toolbar is at the top of the scene editor page. Use the toolbar to manage scenes, switch back to the canvas or blueprint editor, manage layers and keyframes, configure scenes and layers, toggle the visibility of the Camera Path and Camera Elevation panels, configure block data APIs, event APIs, and action APIs, perform a one-click update, adjust project settings, and preview and publish the 3D city.

3D View and Camera Editor panel

In the 3D View panel, you can view the current frame drawn in the center of the canvas. Freely adjust the camera angle of the current scene in the 3D view. The multi-view Camera Editor panel lets you edit the camera's spatial path and orientation from a third-person perspective in a 2D latitude/longitude space and a 1D elevation space. The camera's latitude/longitude path supports Bézier interpolation mode. This lets you edit the path into any desired curve. For more information, see Manage the 3D View and Camera Editor panel.

The following methods describe how to adjust the 3D view of the scene using a mouse.

  • Press the Alt key, and then click and drag the left mouse button to rotate the camera view.

  • Click and drag the left mouse button to pan the camera view.

  • Scroll the mouse wheel up or down, or use the trackpad to zoom the camera view.

Layer panel

The Layer panel is in the upper-left corner of the scene editor page. It displays a list of current scene layers or global layers, and you can add new layers. Use the features in the Layer Management panel to rename, delete, copy, assign to a specific scene, select, deselect, or export layers to the blueprint. Scene Configuration panel

When you enter the scene editor page, the Scene Configuration panel appears on the right if no layer is selected. In this panel, set Resource Configuration, Sphere Configuration, and Post-processing Configuration. For more information, see Scene configuration items.

Shot and Keyframe panel

The Shot and Keyframe panel is at the bottom of the scene editor page. In this panel, configure shot functions. You can also configure features for the current scene from the bottom toolbar, such as Presentation Mode, Edit Mode, Set Keyframe Event, and the Timeline. Layer Configuration panel

When you enter the scene editor page, click a layer in the Layer panel on the left. The Configuration and Data tabs appear on the right. On the Configuration tab, you can modify the parameters of configuration items. For information about how to configure each layer, see Layer configuration items.
