If you cannot acquire your desired domain name through standard registration, you can purchase a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name.
Overview
Fixed-price (Choice) is an Alibaba Cloud service that lets you purchase recommended second-hand domain names. Alibaba Cloud partners with third-party domain name trading platforms to integrate their fixed-price and second-hand domain name resources. You can purchase Fixed-price (Choice) domain names that Alibaba Cloud recommends.
Transaction notes
Seller
Alibaba Cloud partners provide Fixed-price (Choice) domain names. You cannot list your own domain names for sale in Fixed-price (Choice) transactions.
Buyer
Fixed-price (Choice) domain names are second-hand domain names. Their prices are higher than those of unregistered domain names.
A purchase generates one order with two service items. The actual purchase price is the sum of these two items. You must pay for the order promptly after it is created. Otherwise, someone else may purchase the domain name.
The purchase price of a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name includes a one-year domain name renewal fee.
After the payment is successful, you cannot cancel the purchase or request a refund.
Transaction fees
Purchase fee: The buyer must pay the purchase fee for the domain name. The final price is based on the price displayed in the order, which includes a one-year domain name renewal fee.
Service fee: No service fee is charged.
NoteThe service fee is a percentage of the final sale price that Alibaba Cloud charges the seller. This fee does not apply to the buyer, who is only responsible for the domain's full purchase price as specified in the order.
Purchase process
Single purchase
Go to the Domain Name Trading home page. Select Fixed-Price.
From the Data Source drop-down list, select Synced from Partners, and then click Search.
Find the domain name you want to purchase. Click Buy Now.
You can also click
to add the domain name to your watch list for later management.
On the My Watched Domain Names page, you can view the status of all watched domain names and perform operations such as Purchase, Unfollow, or Export Selected Domain Names.
Select an information template that has been successfully verified, review the related agreements, and then click Buy Now.
Select a payment method. Click Pay to complete the domain name purchase.
Batch purchase
Go to the Domain Name Trading home page. Select Fixed-Price.
From the Data Source drop-down list, select Synced from Partners, and then click Search.
Select the checkboxes of all the domain names that you want to purchase. Then, click Batch Purchase at the bottom of the page.
You can also click the Batch Follow button to add domain names to your watch list in batches.
On the My Watched Domain Names page, you can view the status of all watched domain names and perform batch operations such as Batch Purchase, Batch Unfollow, or Export Selected Domain Names.
NoteThe batch purchase feature does not distinguish between domain name types. You can use the one-click batch purchase feature for all watched Fixed-Price domain names, including Fixed-Price (Premium), Fixed-Price (Preferred), and Default Subscription domain names.
Select an information template for which identity verification is complete. Review the related agreements. Then, click Buy Now.
Select a payment method. Click Pay to complete the domain name purchase.
After purchasing a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name and completing the payment, you can track the purchase progress on the order payment page. After a successful purchase, you can view and manage your domain name in the Alibaba Cloud Domains console.
After successfully purchasing a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name, you must renew it before it expires. You can log in to the Alibaba Cloud Domains console to check the expiration date. We recommend renewing your domain name at least one month before it expires. For more information, see Domain name renewal.

Delivery time
After purchasing a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name and completing the payment, the order status changes to Processing. During this period, Alibaba Cloud contacts the partner to negotiate the purchase and transfer the domain name to the buyer's account as soon as possible. Delivery times are as follows:
Most domain names are delivered within a few minutes.
A small number of domain names require more than 15 days for delivery due to delays in contacting the domain name seller or transfer time restrictions.
Some domain names are subject to the ICANN transfer policy and delivery may take more than 60 days.
When the domain name is successfully delivered, the system sends you an email notification of the order status change.

FAQ
Purchase failure after payment
After paying for a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name, the order status changes to Processing. Whether the purchase is ultimately successful depends on the notification from our partner. A purchase may fail for the following reasons:
The original domain name holder decides not to sell the domain name.
The domain name sale information is invalid. The sale information on the partner platform was published by a previous domain name holder, not the current holder.
The domain name is regulated by an upstream authority and cannot be sold.
The partner cannot contact the seller.
After paying for a Fixed-price (Choice) domain name, Alibaba Cloud makes every effort to complete the purchase. If the purchase fails after you have paid, the system automatically issues a refund. If your Alibaba Cloud account has an outstanding invoice balance, the refund is credited to your account balance. Otherwise, the refund is returned to the original payment method.
Unlisted domain name for sale
Possible reason:
Partner platforms provide the sale listings for Fixed-price (Choice) domain names, and they do not share data with each other. If a previous owner listed a domain name for sale on multiple partner platforms and then transferred it to a new owner, the partner platforms might not have updated their data in time. As a result, the old sale listing may still be active.
NoteBecause the domain name holder has changed, no one else can successfully purchase this domain name.
Solution:
If Alibaba Cloud is the domain name registrar: Log in to the account that holds the domain name and submit a ticket. We will investigate the issue for you.
If the domain name registrar is not Alibaba Cloud: To prevent the sale listing from being incorrectly removed, prepare proof of ownership from your current domain name registrar (such as a domain name registration certificate) and submit a ticket. We will then investigate the issue for you.
