Similar to a bar chart, a radial bar chart displays trends over time and allows for data comparison. This topic describes how to add data to a radial bar chart and configure its styles.

Prerequisites

You have created a dashboard. For more information, see Create a dashboard.

Overview

  • Use cases

Radial bar charts are intuitive. The length of the bars represents the magnitude of the values, making it easy to compare differences and trends across data groups.

  • Benefits

    • Calculation capabilities: Configure YoY/MoM comparison and cumulative calculation with a single click.

    • Visual effects: Customize display options, such as labels, a legend, and a custom background.

Limitations

A radial bar chart consists of a value axis/measure and a category axis/dimension:

  • The category axis is determined by a dimension. You can add one dimension, such as province or product type.

  • The value axis is determined by a measure. You can add one measure, such as order quantity or profit amount.

Configure chart fields

  1. On the Fields tab, select the required dimension and measure fields:

    • In the Dimensions list, find Area, and then double-click it or drag it to the category axis/dimension area.

    • In the Measures list, find Order Amount, and then double-click it or drag it to the value axis/measure area.

  2. Click Update. The chart updates automatically.

  3. Set a filter to display data for a specific Area.

  4. Auto Refresh.

Enable this option to automatically refresh chart data at a specified interval. For example, if you set the interval to 5 minutes, the data refreshes every 5 minutes.

Configure chart styles

The following sections describe the chart's style settings. For information about common style configurations, see Configure the chart title area.

You can enter keywords in the Search Box at the top of the configuration pane to quickly find a configuration item. You can also click the image..png icon to Expand/Collapse All Categories.

Drill-down

After configuring drill-down fields in the Fields panel, you can set the display style for the drill-down hierarchy here.

Chart linkage

Use chart linkage to interactively analyze data across multiple charts. For configuration details, see Chart linkage.

Navigation

Use navigation to connect multiple dashboards for data analysis. Navigation includes two types: parameter jump and external link.

Next steps

  • You can share the dashboard with other users. For more information, see Share a dashboard.

  • If you need to create a complex, menu-driven portal for thematic analysis, you can integrate your dashboards into a data portal. For more information, see Create a data portal.
