What do the icons in the dataset list mean?

The dataset list is sorted by the dataset update time, as shown in the following figure. The following are common icons in the dataset list:

  • 默认: The default dataset icon. The analysis and filter pages use this dataset by default.

  • 错: This icon appears when a dataset fails to be calculated or updated. You can hover over the icon to view the reason for the failure.

  • 更新: This icon appears for datasets that are configured with automatic updates. You can hover over the icon to view the update method.

  • 信息: This icon appears if fields in a dataset are deleted after an automatic update. You can hover over the icon to view the deleted fields.

The name of the source data table is displayed below the dataset name. The data source of the table is displayed in the Data Source column. To view the configuration details of a dataset, you can click the dataset name to go to its details page.

How do I use a dataset created by another user for data analytics?

Users other than administrators and the dataset creator need authorization to use a dataset.

The authorization types are as follows:

  • Management permissions: Users with management permissions can manage and use the dataset. This includes editing the dataset, performing user analysis, and creating new audiences by filtering the dataset.

  • Usage permissions: Users with usage permissions can only use the dataset and cannot manage it. Using the dataset includes performing user analysis and creating new audiences by filtering the dataset. It does not include management operations, such as editing the dataset.

  • Row-level permissions: After you enable row-level access control for a dataset, only authorized users can use rows that are filtered by the values of specified fields. If you specify multiple fields, the authorized rows must meet the value requirements of all specified fields.

Authorization must be granted by an administrator or a user with management permissions for the dataset (excluding behavioral datasets). For more information, see Management permission settings, Usage permission settings, and Row-level permission settings.

Besides audience filtering, what are other ways to create an audience?

In addition to the Audience Filter feature, you can also:

  • Use the audience intersection and union feature to perform intersection, union, and difference calculations on existing audiences to create a new audience. For more information, see Audience intersection and union.

  • Use the copy audience feature to create a new audience that is identical to the original. For more information, see Copy an audience.

  • Use the upload audience feature to upload a list of user IDs in CSV or TXT format as an audience. For more information, see Upload an audience.

  • Read a user ID data table from a data source to create an audience. For more information, see Create an audience from a data source.

  • When you perform user analysis, you can create a new audience from the users who are represented by parts of a chart, or add them to an existing audience. For more information, see User Analysis.

  • Within 7 days after a manual SMS, email, or PUSH marketing task is executed, you can go to the task details page to create an audience from users with a specific delivery status. For more information, see SMS Marketing Task Management, Email Marketing Task Management, and PUSH Task Management.

  • In an automated marketing task that is triggered by a specific audience, you can use the create audience component to generate an audience from the upstream user group. For more information, see Marketing action - Create audience component.

  • After a repurchase prediction task or product recommendation task is successfully executed, you can save users who match your desired repurchase prediction results or product relevance scores as an audience. For more information, see Repurchase Prediction and Product Recommendation.

  • When you view an analytics report, you can select parts of a chart to create an audience from the corresponding users. For more information, see Analytics Dashboard.

What do the icons in the audience list mean?

The audience list is sorted by the audience update time, as shown in the following figure.

The following are common icons in the audience list:

  • 新: Indicates a new audience. This icon is displayed for 24 hours after the audience is created.

  • 加: Indicates that a snapshot was generated when the audience was updated. You can click the icon to expand the snapshot list.

  • 数字: Indicates that there are multiple associated sub-activities. You can hover over the icon to display all associated sub-activities.

  • 来源: For audiences created from audience filtering, audience intersection/union, or analytics insight reports, you can hover over the icon to view more details. For an audience created by filtering, the icon displays the filter conditions and calculation method. You can view the source dataset name on the edit page. For an audience created by intersection or union, the icon displays the source audiences and calculation method. For an audience created from an analytics insight report, the icon displays the source table, data source, and a button to view the SQL statement.

  • 1: You can hover over the icon to view the name of the data table where the audience is saved in the data source.

  • 更新: This icon appears for audiences that are configured with automatic updates. You can hover over the icon to view the update method.

  • 叉: This icon appears when an audience fails to be calculated or updated. You can hover over the icon to view the reason for the failure.

  • 成功: This icon appears when an audience is successfully calculated or updated.

  • 待执行: The update concurrency for the workspace is set. If the number of audiences exceeds this limit, they are queued for updates and display the pending icon.

How do I sync the latest data from a data source?

After you create a dataset or an audience, if the data in the data source is updated, you must update the dataset or audience to sync the latest data to Quick Audience. Otherwise, user analysis and audience analysis will use outdated data, and the results may not reflect the current user status.

  • Update a dataset:

  • Update an audience:

    • Audiences support manual and periodic updates. For more information about the update operation, see Updates and snapshots.

    Note

Updating an audience does not automatically trigger an update of its source dataset. You must first update the dataset. After the dataset update is complete, you can update the audience to sync the latest data from the data source to the audience.

What can cause dataset and audience updates to fail?

When a dataset or audience update fails, the 错 failed icon appears. You can hover over the icon to view the specific reason for the failure.

The following are common reasons for failure:

  • You do not have permissions for the required data. The authorization settings for the source table of the organization's data source may have changed. Specifically, after you enable row-level access control for a data table, you must set authorization values for all controlled fields for all workspaces. Otherwise, the workspaces cannot retrieve data. You can ask the organization administrator to check the authorization status. For more information, see Grant permissions on an organization data source.

  • The underlying data table does not exist. It may have been renamed or deleted. Check the underlying data table.

  • The password for the data source has changed, but the new password was not updated in the data source configuration in Quick Audience. In this case, all updates for datasets and audiences based on this data source will fail. You can ask the organization administrator to update the password for the organization data source and the workspace administrator to update the password for the workspace data source.

  • An error occurred during SQL execution. This may be because resources were occupied, which caused the execution to fail. You can try again later.

When pushing to Data Bank or Damengpan, there is an ID encryption type option. Does Quick Audience have an encryption feature?

When you push data to services such as Data Bank and Damengpan, you can select an ID encryption method: MD5, SHA256, AES, or unencrypted. This option indicates whether the ID field that is stored in your table is already encrypted. If it is, select the corresponding encryption method to use the ID field later. For more information, see the relevant operation document.

Quick Audience does not provide an encryption feature. To encrypt IDs, you can select an appropriate encryption tool for the method you choose, or use a user-defined function to perform encryption. For more information about the user-defined function (UDF) for AES encryption, see AES encryption function.

Some datasets on the dataset page were not created by me. Why?

When a user first uses modules, such as Social Interaction or Global Membership, in Quick Audience, the system automatically performs the following actions within a few minutes:

  • Obtains the backflow data from the Social Interaction and Global Membership modules. The data tables are stored in the Social Interaction backflow data source and the Global Membership backflow data source that you configured for the backflow data sources.

  • Creates corresponding datasets such as "Social Interaction_XXX" and "Global Membership_XXX" in the default workspace. The creator is displayed as "API Sync".

These data tables and datasets are automatically updated starting from 00:00 every day. You can perform user analysis, audience filtering, and pushes on these datasets, but do not edit, rename, move, or delete them.

What should I do if the Analytics Dashboard does not display embedded reports?

When you go to the report menu on the Business Insight page, if the page does not display embedded Quick BI reports, it may be because your browser is blocking third-party cookies.

In this case, you can try changing your browser settings. For example, in the Chrome browser, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data, select Allow all cookies, and then refresh the Business Insight page.1
