Host console features
The main management features of Web Hosting are described in the following table.
Feature | Description | References |
Site information | View server monitoring information, website information, host account information, database information, and help for website setup and usage.
Database information | Data Management Service (DMS) integrates data management, structure management, user authorization, security auditing, data trending, and data tracking. It supports unified management of relational databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. With DMS, you can perform operations such as creating, deleting, importing, and exporting tables in your database.
To enhance your website's security, we recommend that you reset your database password periodically. You can also reset a forgotten password through the Web Hosting control panel.
When your website's user base and data volume grow rapidly, and the current database can no longer meet the TPS and storage requirements, you can change the database through the Web Hosting control panel.
When you need to manage files in your database, you can use DMS to log on to the database. Both web and client versions are available. We recommend using the web version.
Host information | You can view basic server information, such as server running status, server name, and host configuration details. This information helps you determine whether your host requires an ICP filing, a restart, a renewal, an upgrade, or a data center change. You can also view monitoring information to check the host's running status in real time. Important Some Linux-based dedicated Web Hosting products support custom monitoring and alerts. You can set up monitoring alert items in the Custom Monitoring and Alerts section.
Domain management | After setting up your website, you must bind a domain name to the host. The domain becomes accessible only after the DNS changes propagate and your ICP filing is approved.
You can set up HTTPS encrypted access for your domain to enable high-strength, two-way encrypted transmission, which prevents data from being leaked or tampered with.
Alibaba Cloud CDN offloads pressure from the origin server, avoids network congestion, and ensures accelerated content delivery across different regions and scenarios, improving resource access speed. You can enable CDN acceleration through the Web Hosting control panel based on your business needs.
Web Hosting provides a website acceleration service. You can purchase a website acceleration package and add acceleration to your host's domain name to speed up your website.
Basic environment settings | Web Hosting provides a default website homepage for debugging purposes. To ensure your website runs correctly, replace it with your official homepage after uploading your website's program files.
Setting a 404 error page helps guide visitors to other pages on your site instead of closing the window, and helps maintain your site's search engine ranking and trust.
A 301 redirect is an HTTP status code indicating that a page has permanently moved to a new address. The server returns this code when a user or search engine requests the original page.
The default website root directory for a Web Hosting instance that runs the Linux operating system is htdocs, while other applications, such as ThinkPHP, use public as their default directory. To ensure that your website is accessible, you must change the website root directory before you upload your website application.
Advanced environment settings | For Linux-based Web Hosting products, you can change the PHP version, and enable or disable PHP functions. If you use an enhanced Linux-based Web Hosting product, you can also configure Nginx files and configure PHP and Zend extension components. Important
| |
For Windows-based Web Hosting products, you can change the .NET version and configure script error messages and MIME types.
File management | You can compress and decompress files in the website root directory, set permissions for files in batches, and delete files.
To manage website files without installing an FTP client on your local machine, we recommend using the file manager. Note If you are not currently using an FTP client to manage your website files, we recommend disabling the FTP feature in the control panel for your Linux-based Web Hosting product. For more information, see Enable and disable the FTP feature.
Website access logs summarize visitor information, including the visitor's IP address, access time, browser information, operating system, visited pages, wait time, and whether the access was successful.
The trojan scanner regularly scans your web directory files for security threats, identifies high-risk files, and sends security notifications. You can isolate these high-risk files to ensure the security of your website content. Important Some Web Hosting products include a trojan scanning feature in the control panel. Check your console to see if this feature is available.
Traffic status | Traffic reports analyze website access over a period to help you understand visitor patterns. These reports include metrics such as visitor location, visit dates, search engine bots, referral sources, page views, operating systems, and browser versions.
Tools | After backing up your data, you can use the automatic backup and recovery feature to quickly restore data to your Web Hosting product.
You can use the control panel to quickly migrate your website from other hosting providers to a HiChina host, or migrate website information from one Web Hosting product to another.
Web Hosting provides a website check feature that inspects host status, domain status, ICP filing status, and environment configuration, and provides effective solutions.
Self-service diagnosis | Enhanced Linux-based Web Hosting includes a self-service diagnosis feature to help you troubleshoot issues like website inaccessibility and domain configuration errors.
Access control | Enhanced Linux-based Web Hosting products provide an access control feature. You can use this feature to block malicious IP addresses and limit concurrent connections, which helps reduce the risk of a DDoS attack on your website. Important

FAQ
Does Web Hosting support scheduled tasks (Cron Jobs)?
Web Hosting does not support creating scheduled tasks or timed script execution. The product does not expose OS-level advanced control permissions, so you cannot configure Cron Jobs or run scripts on a scheduled basis.
If you need scheduled task functionality, consider using a product with full system permissions, such as Simple Application Server or Elastic Compute Service (ECS).
